Why is it that VIP has a personality only when he's talking to Berry.

But even then it's robotic.

Retro studios is working on this game. I hope they do a good job cause looks like many retro things like coins are coming back. :p
I never thought Retros Studios would be working on Mario Kart 3DS...
Why do you think the Donkey Kong stage is Donkey Kong Country Returns themed? Cause it's made by Retro. :p
I thought they were just screwing around since they were doing a course dedicated to Waha Island or whatever it is. I wonder if Retro had any influence on all this flying shit.

So far Wario has not been shown, but I can't see this game not having Wario. Also, Retro Studios has been confirmed to have made the Donkey Kong course, but I'm not sure if they really have a huge level of involvement in this game.
Retro is basically making the whole game and Wario not being present is strange... :p Nintendo is REALLY,REALLY,REALLY busy making other first party title like Skyward Sword, Super Mario, Paper Mario, Pikmin 3, Mario Party 9, Luigi's Mansion 2, Kid Icarus, Animal Crossing, ect so they're depending on other developers to make their games which is an eeeeeh decision. They could either make it wonderful or terrible. By the looks of thing the game hopefully looks great.

People, Retro is not "basically making the whole game". That is completely untrue. At a developer roundtable a few days ago Miyamoto-san casually mentioned that Retro has lended their talents to the game, but he didn't exactly specify in what form. He seemed to be hinting at the idea that it was just a few tracks and character models.

We May Have 8-Player Online with Mario Kart 3DS

Posted Sat, 11 Jun 2011 by Trevor Chan

"Bring on the competition!

There will be a number of new features in the upcoming Mario Kart for 3DS, and if all goes according to plan, an increase in the number of players competing against each other online will be one of them.

Mario Kart DS featured four-player online and Nintendo is looking to double this figure with the 3DS instalment. The game will feature eight-player local wireless action and as long as Nintendo can maintain the 60-frames-per-second slickness both offline and online, with the game running in 2D or 3D, eight-player online is something that gamers can expect.

Producer Hideki Konno confirmed with Joystiq:

... our goal right now is to have the same number of players for both local wireless and multiplayer over Wi-Fi.

As announced at E3 2011, Mario Kart is scheduled for a worldwide release this Christmas."

So unlike in Mario Kart DS where we had 4 players online, for Mario Kart 3DS, we can have up to 8 people online at once. That's a reasonable number for the members here who play Mario Kart at the same time!
