I beat the whole game and I am not pleased, none at all
Dungeons were straight forward and the final boss was a LOL
I'm in Hero Mode now and I'm at the Shipyard in Lanayru's so called "Sea" LOL
I am ashamed at was at once thinking of returning it to get my money but I'll keep it :/

I haven't beaten the game (but I know I'm pretty close), but why weren't you pleased? I loved the dungeons in the game but what do you mean be "straight forward"? Was is it too linear or too easy?

And I LOVE the boss fights. Each one is a blast to play from everything from the weapon usage to the environment to the epic music. Can't say anything about the last boss.

And Sand of Sea was also really cool. So go away. :p

Easy and linear. Some dungeons weren't even complex and most of them are only 1 FLOOR which I hate because it makes the dungeon short

Boss fights were too easy for an exception of few *LITERALLY AN EXCEPTION*

The Sand of Sea was cool and it was new to see Lanayru sanded up LOL

But overall it's too easy to go by
I wanted more places to travel instead of 5 and ALOT of backtracking which I don't mind but it does gets annoying

Sand of Sea... You can tell when I'm posting at 2 in the morning. >.>

I'd agree that the game is easy for the most part, but I can forgive that for such a great experience. The feeling and atmosphere in this game is phenomenal.

Again boss fights are easy too (once you know what to do), but each one I have played has been a lot of fun. And rewarding. I love how they were able to change the formula enough to be able to make it feel fresh and new while still using some core concepts used throughout the series.

No overworld isn't something to be happy about but it worked out for the way the game is meant to be played. Smaller areas with more content instead of big open areas filled with little content. Don't mind the backtracking and I actually like how the environments change.

Cleared the fifth dungeon now. I need more of a particular rare treasure so I can upgrade my gear even more...

Ancient Cistern was a little confusing/annoying probs b.c. of the water. The Stalmaster was like WTF XD Boss was the most epic of the lot I've fought so far. / Sandship is a lot calmer but I guess it's to test your wisdom of dungeon navigation and mechanics. The sub-boss fight was a lot cooler than the boss fight which was a drone >.< And the powerup to the Goddess Sword is a bit silly (though it's certainly aligned to what the corresponding Hylian goddess's trait is)

How to Avoid Skyward Sword's Game-Ending Glitch

Posted Tue, 06 Dec 2011 by James Newton

Pay attention

The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword is a fantastic game, but if you're not lucky you could encounter a serious bug that completely halts your progress. Now Nintendo has released instructions for how to avoid it — but no word of a fix.

The following email comes from Sharon Matheny (via Zelda Informer:

We have been made aware of the issue that results in being unable to progress in the Song of the Hero quest. If the game has been saved after completing the sequence of events, it will no longer be possible to proceed through the game on that save file. The only options at that point are to either start the game over or to use an earlier save file to continue.

The situation is caused by performing the following sequence of events during the Song of the Hero quest:

    1. At the beginning of the quest, go to Lanayru Desert to retrieve the song of the Thunder Dragon.
    2. In the Lanayru Mine, speak with Golo the Goron.
    3. Complete the Thunder Dragon's event, and receive his song.
    4. Before heading to the forest or volcano regions, speak with Golo in the mine again.
    5. At this point, the forest and volcano events will no longer occur, making it impossible to continue.

    Solutions:

This issue WILL NOT OCCUR if the Fire and Water Dragon songs have already been collected before collecting the Thunder Dragon's song. Talking to Golo in the Lanayru Caves will also NOT trigger this issue.
If the game has been saved after completing the sequence of events, it will no longer be possible to proceed through the game on that save file. The only options at that point are to either start the game over or to use an earlier save file to continue.

I wish I had a better answer, but I'm afraid there currently is no other fix available. I can assure, however, that we are documenting all feedback we receive on this issue. Thank you for your patience and support.

Of course the big lesson is to back-up your save file regularly, and definitely before you take on the final boss.

Last year Nintendo of Japan attended to a Metroid: Other M bug fix by inviting users to send in their save file on an SD card for an update.

Dear god, not another glitch that can potentially prevent you from completing the game. Just be careful what you're doing. There should be a patch to fix this, but knowing Nintendo...

Beat the game a few hours ago. I really enjoyed it and I don't really want to say much else so know has the chance to be spoiled. :p

The Flooded Faron Woods part had to be my least favorite part of the game. "I know you're the hero, but I'm going to make you collect all these things just to make sure". But I did take the tadpoles as a MM reference so that was cool. :p

A heads up to Boo who wasn't sure about the names of the dragons:

Lanayru is the Thunder Dragon. I didn't check but I assume Eldin is the name of the Fire Dragon.

Damn those dragon names, I will just say
Water (Ms. B*tch), Thunder (Grandpa), Fire (Smog) dragon

The scene where you learn the complete Song of Hero is one of my favorite scenes from the entire game. Throughout the game I kept wondering when these classic Zelda themes would reappear and hearing the main and most well recognized Zelda (and video games in general) theme used as the Song of Hero not only made sense, but also gave me such a feeling of importance, amazement, and nostalgia.

Starts at :45

North America to Get Zelda: Skyward Sword Save File Fix

Posted Mon, 19 Dec 2011 by James Newton

Everything's not lost

Nintendo Japan's save file fix programme for The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword is coming to North America.

Affected users can either send in their save file on an SD card or wait for Nintendo to make available a piece of Wii software that'll repair the issue.

Prevention is better than cure, so read up on how to avoid Zelda: Skyward Sword's game-ending glitch.

Despite the fact I have never tried this glitch, I am glad North America is fixing the glitch.

I'm very sorry for derailing this thread but I need to say this.

From what I've played thus far, this game is probably one of my least favorite Zelda games I've played. It is in no way bad, but I feel that it could be a lot better:

The graphics are blurry and less than impressive
The story progression is way too long, it took me about 6 hours to get past the intro
I strongly dislike the story line, Zelda and Link aren't even the Zelda and Link we know and love
Music is sometimes annoying and repetitive
The fairysword thing is so annoyingly mellow
The motion controls are so bad and unresponsive and vapid
No Ganondorf? Yeah, just go ahead and give me a Zelda game without Zelda then, and also, that fat guy that apparently has the hots for Zelda < ganondorf (btw sorry if this is false, I haven't gotten far in the game and this is merely an assumption)
I'm sorry, but I like OOT much much more :(

1. It is before Ocarina of Time
2. It is suppose to have a heavy story b/c it is before OoT and suppose to supply the information for one to conclude analytically that this is before OoT
3. Graphics are at times blurry, it's a Wii for God's sake XD
4. Music ehhh, I found the music interesting and it set a mood in the corresponding place (The Sky music was indeed annoying tho)
5. The motion controls was at times were unresponsive and it got on my nerves. And the game was DEPENDING on it to XD
6. THIS is before Ganon, as we know, IDK the boss name b/c I forgot, prolly summon that evil beast to haunt Link's entire life
