Should Cartoon Network be rated T for Teen?

LOL @ fail topic. If you think that Adult Swim is part of the regular Cartoon Network block, then that's fail (Adult Swim is its own block on Cartoon Network). And if you think that teenagers would love to hear poop jokes and all of that half-assed humor, then that's idiotic. Besides, none of the shows are worthy to have the TV-14 rating on the regular block.

No, because Cartoon Network is completely filled with child content. Most of the shows are rated "Y7" not PG-13. If it were teen it'll be a lot of other things 5 year olds wouldn't know. If a channel is described only for teens there would most likely be some more inappropriate language and more violence then some cartoon violence, and some content that you would usually hear when you're in high school obviously.

This.

Explain to me how CN shows of today are a T rating?? From what I've seen nothing bad ever is shown on those cartoons and even if they slip a little innuendo in there, SO WHAT. They put that stuff in there so Adults can laugh with their kids and not be bored to tears when they watch cartoons with them. I'm sad to think that they've ruined cartoons..

I do recall my sister watching the only thing I found inappropriate.
I think it was total drama island, it's a pathetic show, that show has influenced kids I know to do bad stuff.
They should be smart and not let TV influence them. I never knew anyone except this Spongebob nerd who let TV influence them. They just need to use their common sense.

Cookie, seriously.  Little kids watch the show and whether you like it or not the ARE influenced.  Not too directly but "Hey, I'm supposed to like looking at boobies.  They do in the show, maybe I should too."

I've seen this go on way too many times.  Kids tend sometimes see cartoon characters are "role model" type characters.  Not exactly role models but a lot of them do try to sync their minds with characters on TV.

It really bothers me to see how people have trouble seeing how kids think.  Their minds are "Simple", so their logic is different.

Of course, not all kids will be influenced, but many are.

So what stuff do these kids do exactly? Not do homework? Climb trees? What's so special that they can't use common sense for?

Dammit, Cookieboy, stop treating kids as if they're adults or teenagers.  That's makes so little sense.  =P

Don't say it's common sense for kids to not copy what they see.  That' not common sense.  Kids will learn from what they see on TV.  I mean we watch the discovery channel to learn things.  We watch TV shows and a lot of stuff we do might be based off of what we see on TV.  For example, we might learn that certain stuff are taboo subjects to talk about in a show, so we won't talk much about them in real life.

It's the same thing with kids, just with cartoons.

For once I actually agree with what Cookieboy is saying.  Yes children can be influenced BUT if parents would actually parent their child instead of leaving the parenting to the TV, then kids wouldn't imitate what they saw on it.  Chill out and let the kids be kids. How are they ever going to learn what is right and wrong if we don't let them see what is out there.

The only kids prone to being influenced by TV are the ones with mental disorders like ASD. Kids without aliments simply don't get influenced by TV. Say if a kid saw Sonic the Hedgehog and saw how human-like and super he was. What if he saw a REAL hedgehog before? Or better example: How come he doesn't see other hedgehogs or animals like him around? Either it's a pretty boring area or they simply do not exist. Kids aren't that dumb, Mirs. They do realize when they are being tricked. It's just the typical stereotype of a kid that makes us believe that kids are absent-minded and easily manipulated.
