Some courses have weird names, but as long as their fun, I don't care what they're called. The japanese Mario Kart 7 site didn't update the Special Cup nor the Lightning Cup this last Friday. I was hoping to see how Rainbow Road would look like and if the whole SNES Rainbow Road as a retro track is true or not.
There were demos at the LA Auto Show this weekend that had the Star and Special cups available to play. Some clips of the special cup might show up online.
