Has Mario Party Found it's Grave?

I wonder what motive the Monegi Team had in order to have disbanded. And because of the redirection of the company to NdCube, this could be interesting.

IMO, the MP series as we know it has been over since MPDS, but if the new dev team does actually start something up, who knows? It may reinvigorate the series. And also, I don't consider Wii Party an MP successor, just an MP knockoff for the Wii franchise. >_>

I still have faith in Mario Party, I remembered that it took 2 years for Mario Party 8 to come out since 2005. Honestly, I don't think Mario Party has found it's grave...

I also don't see Wii Party as part of the Mario Party series. What I did say is that Wii Party has some key people who worked on Mario Party and that is our last hope of anything for Mario Party.

It's not likely at all. If Wii Party sells well, they will just make another Wii Party. If it doesn't, there is a chance they might revert back to Mario Party or they can stop with the "Party" games like Matt said.
 
I really hope the Mario Party series has not reached its good-bye because then, many people will be sad and upset because deep down, everyone has to love Mario Party.
 
i really really hope they dont stop i always like mario partys for winter like around christmas time i also hope its not like mp8 mp1-3 was the best mp4 was good i really liked mp5 and mp6 was not bad mp7 was ok but mp8 i didnt like not even the levels its TOO much wii movement i no thats the point but still a gc controller would be nice and for levels i enjoy just getting stars not build hotels? like what you team up or go alone win mini games for coins duel coins stars to buy stars and when you duel you couldnt pick what you win in mp8 i like to duel for 50 coins or a star. but i really hope they wise up and make another the way it should be it could be game of the year.maybe it could be mario galaxy themed? with a luma as a host so rosalina could be a hidden character. i hope the story is also good i also like boss minigames. it would be cool to king boo and petey pirhana

...After sitting here for about 5 minutes trying to decipher what this dude was trying to say, I'll just say I agree with him pretty much the whole way through minus the Rosalina part since she isn't that great.

And yes, it would be cool to king boo and petey pirhana.
 
With the release of Wii Party, the recent lack of acknowledgment of  in mario party, and with this site taking a complete 180 and taking a "death" approach to Mario Party, im surprised I couldnt find a thread about this...but is Mario Party dead? Could they just be on a long, unknown hiatus? Does the success of Wii Party hinge on the possibility of Mario Party 9? Meaning, if it sucks, do they try to make a Mario Party 9? Is the game already in the works? Will overwhelming demands from fans make the game in the works? I mean seriously, MP 8 and MPDS were the 2 best-selling Mario Party games of the franchise...it's 100% undoubtedly strange how Nintendo just sealed their lips about Mario Party, but they also never said they're done making them. What are your thoughts?
 
I believe Wii party is a spiritual sequel to MP. I honestly rather have a decent(Not sure about this, haven't looked much into it) game than another terrible Mario Party. Like the article said, it's not made by Hudson, but the new team has most of the main people behind Mario Party.
 
I sure hope Mario Party hasn't found its grave. I seriously want another Mario Party, especially after seeing how Mario Party 8 had failed horribly. If Mario Party 9 comes out and resolves every problem that Mario Party 8 had(use of candies, no DK/Bowser Mini-games, etc.)...basically everything the other Mario Parties had...then I would be grateful. Until then. No. If Mario Party were to find its grave, I'd want it done in a better fashion than Mario Party 8.

(i know Mario Party DS was the latest Mario Party released...but i consider that one a spin-off in a sort of way...not part of the main series)
