I'm not trying to be a troll, but I am just baffled that a lot of people are merely saying MP9 will be good because it is Mario Party and therefore a massive success. The MP franchise stopped being good after the first 3 N64 games, because every single game suffers the "Pokemon Syndrome", or rather, doesn't change the gameplay at all and instead uses stale and repetitive minigame ideas while at the same time the boards constantly lack appeal and enjoyable movements.
The last MP game I played was Mario Party Advance, which every MP fan seemed to hate the f*** out of. Why? Just because the gameplay took a radical POSITIVE turn and made it a much better game? True, there were no real multiplayer options (who the hell cares honestly) and the gameplay of moving around the boards was a tad different, but the overall feel of the game, in my opinion, was some of the best minigame-oriented projects I have ever played. The last true party game I thought had major potential was Crash Bash. But of course, people criticized the game for having repetitive minigames, but the controls, rules, and the objectives of the games were all in good fun, just keeping score. In MP, if someone is just mashing buttons or gets a lucky shot, they can run away with all the Stars and be a total n00b who didn't know how the hell they did it, compared to a pro who knows how to actually play it. Crash Bash just had keeping score, no boards or any bullcrap spaces that can make you lose unfairly.
So, erm, anyways, uh, COME AT ME BRO I guess.
