7th Generation Of Pokemon coming in 2016?

And speaking of generic flying-type pokemon, it'd be nice if things would get switched around this time. Was nice to et a fire / flying type this time instead of a normal / flying, but I'd really like to see a different start, instead of 'here's your two evolution normal pokemon, here's your fish, here's your elemental starters, here's your generic flying type', maybe get something more exotic, like route 1 ghost types or something. Would be nice to have a different triad of starters, too, like maybe fighting -> dark -> psychic or something. Though that's a pipe dream and will probably never happen.

I think that's one of the main problems I have with Pokemon. They've been clinging on to their tropes since day 1. I'm pretty sure it's guaranteed at this point that we will get generic rodent and generic bird as our first encounters for every Pokemon game we start with.

The starters for Gen 5 and 6 were mostly meh as well. Tepig would have been cool if it hadn't evolved to a bloody Fire/Fighting type that's been used for three generations in a row, though.

btw, I knew Zygarde is going to get something new, it's been a pathetically horrible Legendary that Garchomp runs it down into the ground with, as if it was intentionally horrible so they can make it mass-broken and powerful, similar to Kyreum was. I really wish they stopped doing that.

I wouldn't mind a new and improved version. Was considering buying Sapphire and X eventually anyway for secondary playthroughs.

the newer pokemon games don't really appeal to me. it's not that they're repetitive, it's that it just seems like it's gotten to the point where everything is too much.

i don't like a lot of the newer pokemon; they all look weird and too abstract. i don't like that the number of legendaries in the games goes up exponentially. i hate how to stories of the games went from being some kid on a journey to become pokemon champion, to saving the world and entering other dimensions.

So the forms confirmed are, Zygarde Core (The green blob, which can reunite with Zygarde Cells to create Zygarde), Zygarde 10% and Perfect Zygarde (The one seen in that trailer, which appears when Zygarde 50% can't defeat an opponent and unleashes its power to achieve perfection)

i mean, what the hell does any of this mean? why does this pokemon have to have like five different versions of itself?

but whatever, i'm sure we're getting Z and the 7th generation at some point.

I agree with a lot of this. The new pokemon are cliche as hell. There's ladylike pokemon, cute pokemon with heads several times the size of their bodies, weird pokemon, and tough pokemon. Seems like there was a lot more variety earlier on.

And I haven't finished X / Y yet but I can see your point about how all the games turned into 'SUPER HERO POKEMON TRAINER WOOO'. They seem pretty exaggerated, especially some of the gyms. I was in the... 7th? Gym in Y, the psychic one, and that's just absolutely ridiculous. Like, what the hell? Literally what? Gyms went from little, low-budget training areas to transdimensional / super-high tech god facilities.

Though I think it's just Game Freak adapting to a dumbed down culture. They're only trying to appeal to consumers, after all.

I have to agree, the story from XY was to "clichéish"
But i find the other dimensions thing interesting like they did with Platinum (Distortion world was really cool)
Besides that i have nothing against the saving the world thing.

I think it's come to a point where they want to keep things fresh and that is sometimes too much. When they first revealed Giratina's Origin form back before Platinum was released, I just thought it was okay. It did not bother me, as it was something new and Giratina's origin form actually looked great back then. The problem comes when they overdo these things. I mean, on the same game we got Shaymin and Rotom, after that, Kyurem's new forms, Keldeo, Meloetta, and now Zygarde. We could also add to that bunch all the Mega Evolutions plus Kyogre and Groudon's Primal Reversions. Everything seems to have some kind of alternate form now. I believe that if they kept things more simple, it could actually be better. I seriously won't be surprised when they reveal a new Dialga and Palkia form and perhaps even a Lugia and Ho-oh alternate form... because why not right?

Every generation has had it's good and bad stuff. I'm always up for new ideas, concepts and such, but once it's overdone, it's just boring.

Pokemon also has the problem of being a little too safe as well. It's a mix of too much unnecessary crap and too much of the same thing.

There's a reason I got tired of Pokemon ever since G4. SoulSilver is my last Pokemon game I voluntarily bought, and I really don't feel like I'm missing out ever since. My twin has played a free version of Pokemon Y, and she got tired of it in a very similar fashion as she did with her copy of HeartGold. Pokemon's just not fun anymore. Maybe I just grew out of it.

Now, Super Mystery Dungeon, on the other hand.....

Whenever Pokemon enters the next generation again, I'd like to see them change some more things up. X and Y became one of my favorites, the unusual designs for the new Pokemon and the music, I found it more pleasant than the usual Pokemon game. I found mega evolution pretty nice. However, a few things about X and Y bothered me, the gym leaders were pathetically easy and never went beyond a team of 3 Pokemon. Any sort of difficulty is gone with overuse of the experience share, your Pokemon will be over leveled if you use it. Without it, the game gets more challenging with the variety of Pokemon each opponent has, unfortunately it requires quite some grinding to meet the opponents level from my experience. I guess I don't mind that. Black 2 and White had an interesting idea with difficulty options for once. Sadly those difficulty options have an inconvenient unlock method I've heard. Why can't the whole series have some kind of difficulty option? I suppose the experience share and removing the option to change Pokemon when knocking out the opponents' Pokemon is the closest Gen 6 equivalent. The new Fairy type was my favorite thing introduced in generation 6. I adore it.

Most rivals throughout the series were lackluster in my opinion, they could have done better. Some were interesting at least.  They all had some more potential. Starters generation 4 and beyond are very meh in my opinion. Although I do like The Fennekin and Froakie lines.

Despite the flaws in the series, I've enjoyed at least one game each generation. Some things have stayed that I honestly wish could change to keep things fresh in the series. Story could be improved but the gameplay is more important. Customization was an awesome addition as the player characters themselves in the series don't really offer much as characters. They seem to serve as avatars and it's a shame they only want to have customization for them in the Kalos games I've heard. It's a lame excuse if it's true. I love the games but they could really make some changes for the better in future generations. I'd likely still be excited for more games, I just can't get enough of Pokemon.

Yeah, I don't think ORAS have customizations. Like I said in currently playing a while back, I expected X/Y to be a blander version of Ruby but it seems to be the other way around.

That being said, that's not necessarily a good thing. I mean, good LORD at the second town being something like ten steps away from the first. What the hell???

And yeah, EXP Share is lame. Decided to stick to a team of 6 for Y and they're always 5 to 10 levels ahead. And I've never seen a Pokemon Game where you could get to level 50 plus in only twenty hours...

My biggest problem with Fennekin is the second stage looks like some cutesy fursona...

@Colyton before I tried Ruby, I thought mega evolutions sounded kiddish as hell. In practice I liked them a lot, though. Just wish megastones were easier to get, so I could have two mega-evolving Lucarios...

Guess I probably will once Z comes out. (Or when I buy X)

I just want some change in the stories or something. Back when I was like 14 I had drawn like five hundred custom pokemon and had all these story ideas like six or nine starters with three different type triads. I wanted something like 5 rivals (which I guess sorta came true in X/Y? Except it's 4 people, 1 is a rival, and 3 are weaklings), REALLY wanted bigger Evo trees (I drew tons of pokemon that had 4-6 stages), and wanted more evolution methods that weren't related to trading. Weird type combos like Fire/Grass and Fire/Water would be cool too.

I guess it's a matter of how devoted you are to the series? I've never been super into Mario Kart, so I get bored of it easy, but I can bear Pokemon being the same thing again and again

Sorry if i'm rambling here, I think faster than I can type on my tablet...
