I love GTA games. They're just so crazy. But I think I prefer Saint's Row over them and I think that a lot of people are the opposite.

I don't really like Reimu as much as many other Touhou characters. She grabs so much attention that she makes even Mario look like he's giving others a chance to shine.
I thought Nitori was the mascot; I'm more confused and in needing of a concise Touhou 101 than ever; All I know is some miscellaneous stuff I looked on the wiki, it's Japan-only, that there are girls, some of which can use magic and/or have their own theme song(which partially led me to believe said thought), it has the genre of shoot/hex?-'em-up(and fighting-game, and 3D Platformer?), and that it seems to be a focal point for Luigi Love and that of his awesome newsboy cap(There's even a phasamaphobe if I'm correct). Some of the best characters and storytelling comes from the series. San Andreas is god-tier. I want to play V so bad but im saving up PS4 money
Also running around and not doing missions lost its novelty awhile ago. Still fun to explore the world though just not evading wanted levels repeatedly.
I just don't see how fans of good games wouldn't enjoy the series. Its a highly polished fantastic game. I don't think Rockstar gets enough credit for their stories.
The story of GTAV is one of the best ones in the series.
There's nothing wrong with GTAV but it just doesn't grab my eye to much and the same applies for sport games.

Some people may have been really obsessed over a certain character in their younger days, and may or may not acted like you, Luigifan, but those people who have grown maturity, while they still love their favorites, they don't "go-ga" over them now.
