What's the worst that can happen?

Opening the barrel won't do any harm. However could we use this for any other purpose? Perhaps putting this on a vantage point to see if the Yoshis are advancing closer to the village than we thought...?

I'm gonna sound wishy-washy here, but now that I think on this matter a bit more, who's to say there isn't some kind of motion-sensor bomb in the barrel? And it'll blow up whoever touches the thing? And no matter how far-fetched it sounds (and I know it sounds REALLY bloody far-fetched) who's to say I'm wrong in thinking that? It could be helpful, it could be harmful, and I know I was the first one to say open the damn thing, but no one knows the true nature of the barrel.

Regardless, The Shy Guys decided it was best to at least see what was inside. As the last one to vote to open it, Yoshidude wsa the one who was said to open it, as all the other Shy Guys backed off. Feeling a little less certain of himself, he slowly reached his hands over the top of the barrel. Now he was shaking. Suddenly, he heard noises, as he so thought, coming from within the Barrel. He decided it was just best to throw the lid off and be done with it. Closing his eyes, Yoshidude quickly flipped the lid off...

Everyone ducked for cover. However, unlike some suspected, nothing seemed to have happened. Curious, Yoshidude got up and took a peek inside the barrel. "Whoa, hey, guys - check this out!" He shouted. Everyone ran up to see it was filled with Mushrooms! Lots of Mushrooms! Upon checking them out, they could see there are a total of 16 Mushrooms inside, and 4 different kinds as well, each labeled as to tell which Mushroom is what. Everyone looked pleased by this! Having these Mushrooms could prove useful for the Shy Guys to have! However, afraid someone might just abuse the Mushrooms, everyone made an agreement for what should b done with them - each person will take one for them to keep. Afterwards, the remaining Mushrooms will be dumped into the river to prevent their misuse by any enemies.

The group has obtained a bunch of items! Each of you will get to pick an item you wish to hold on to for the rest of the game. Items are single-use abilities that can be used in one of 2 ways :
- Can be used on yourself during the daytime.
- Can be used on anyone (even yourself) during the nighttime. Note is done this way, if the person you targeted is protected in some way, you'll not be able to use your item on them. (You'll still keep it for later, though)

- Mushroom - Gives the player an additional vote (which be notified only when it will cause a lynch to happen. Does not reveal if you used it or not, but instead, adds a "Mushroom" vote.)
- Poison Mushroom - Silences the player. They will still be able to vote (only once) and use night actions, but if they say anything else-wise (even in quicktopics for Yoshis/Tribal/Koopa), they will die. Everyone will also know that the player has been "poisoned" that round.
- Metal Mushroom - Gives the player protection. This includes receiving effects from other mushrooms as well as protection from any night kills, but doesn't work if the player is lynched.
- Spy Mushroom - A different kind of Mushroom. Whoever it's used on will have it's role and allegiance revealed to you (The user).

As for the vote, I'd like to ask Yoshidude what part of my counter was worthy of suspicion. Was it because I specifically mentioned my movements at night, or purely because I was trying to cover for myself?
Certainly Billy's choice of words and his self described wishy washiness raise some suspicion with respect to whether he is operating for his own survival or collective survival. It's not enough for a hard vote, but I'd like him to tell me what he thinks of the votes that were cast before the reset - does he feel that any of me, Unknown, himself, or even those who voted, are particularly scummy looking?

In my honest opinion, Billy's little slip up doesn't seem all that suspicious to me. The first time I read through his post, I didn't notice the "for me" part--I thought he was trying to say "in my opinion" or something of the like. Taken literally, we could infer that Billy is a cult/mason leader which is entirely possible. I'm going to focus my attention on mafia for now, but this information may be handy later on.
I'm not entirely sure of HJ's intentions. While bringing up that he investigated a particular person (and got blocked doing so) countered a vote against him, I feel as though it put a target on him to be the next nightkill. What did you hope to accomplish by revealing your night action?
Right now, my biggest suspicion is Unknown. His actions and decisions aren't sitting well with me. Really what got me was when Billy accused him, and his reply was a vague threat before shifting the attention to what HJ said out of nowhere. This is the post I'm talking about:
