So the roster for all Mario game spin-offs should just be Mario, Luigi, Peach, DK, Wario, Bowser and Yoshi since no other character matches the icon status or popularity of these 7 characters. To add or subtract would be an insult to these clearly superior characters and thus no other character deserves to be playable. Oh but now you're going to be bored that the rosters would same 7 characters 24/7? But you just informed me that you hate innovative ideas. Some past ideas of which ultimately led to the existence and use of many characters you know and love today.
The bottom-line is that new characters keep rosters fresh and unique. There's even the possibility that if the new characters are successful in becoming popular they can be used in future games including main games if they're lucky: see Bowser Jr., Rosalina, Nabbit and Toad getting his own game for the first time due to popular demand. But how can they possibly reach such levels if you don't even give them a single chance in a god-damn spin-off game...
I've probably gone overboard with this but I'm just bored of the complaining, especially for a character that does make logical sense originating in a main game. Sprixie isn't even taking up a character slot from a veteran because, well, she's new. And all Mario rosters need characters with the label 'new'. But if you still feel the need to complain, take it out on the only reskin on the roster. He's not even new as he's a returning character, so he is genuinely the one taking up a slot. I like Dry Bowser. Although he probably took barely any effort to create which may be why he was selected for this lazy game.
Sprixie was also the center of attention for the very short intro and ending cinematic for the game and while she had a small role, that is unfortunately enough to quality as a main character for a Mario game: see Peach with her damsel role in most games. It's probably why everyone finds Rosalina over-rated because for once there was a character with a back-story actually somewhat explaining things about her past, and of course that was so shocking everyone just freaked out. Lackluster for any other series, it was very in-depth for Mario.Luma Party said:
