Nothing in Sinnoh has appealed to me more than this shadow of nightmares. Some of Darkrai's moves are Dark Void, Dark Pulse, Focus Blast, Nasty Plot, Substitute, Trick, and Thunder Wave. It also had huge character development in The Rise of Darkrai.
Throughout the movie, Darkrai was mistaken as being a villain, even though he meant no harm. It was first found injured  by Alicia, who healed it with a melody called Oracion. When the fight between Dialga and Palkia came to Alamos Town, the entire town started to disintegrate. Darkrai sacrificed itself to stop the fight between Dialga and Palkia to protect Alamos Town. That... is heroic.

But there is a Pokemon that tops Darkrai. I have to like it in the anime, like its concept, and like its battle capabilities moreso than anyone on this list. Who's that Pokemon? In the meantime, let's recap!

So here we are, at #1 now, my favorite Pokemon ever. For a Pokemon to top this monster of a list, I have to like it in the anime, like its concept, and like its battle capabilities moreso than anyone on this list. Who's that Pokemon?
It's...

1. Meloetta

Meloetta. Surprised? I'm sure some of you are. I've been keeping this as surprise for so long, but now I can finally say that Meloetta is my favorite Pokemon EVER. This miniature, charming singer has appealed to me more than any other Pokemon to date. So why is Meloetta my favorite? Let's start with origins: Meloetta is based on a singer, a treble clef, a ballerina, and a muse, a mythological entity to whom was attributed, in Ancient Greece, the ability to inspire artistic creation. It is said that Meloetta's songs have the power to control feelings. No wonder Relic Song sounds so emotional.
Next, we have battle capabilities. Meloetta has a BST of 600 and Serene Grace. Her Pirouette Form has a unique typing, Normal/Fighting. In fact, Meloetta has two of my favorite Pokemon types: Psychic and Fighting. Her Aria Form has higher special stats, while Pirouette Form has higher physical stats and Speed. Aria Form's Special Attack is 128, beating Shaymin, Thundurus, and even Arceus. Her Aria Form's Special Defense is also 128, beating Palkia, Reshiram, Arceus, and even Giratina. Her Pirouette Form's Attack is 128, beating Arceus and Blaziken. Her Pirouette Form's Speed is also 128 the highest of all Fighting-types, beating Arceus, Darkrai, and even Shaymin. Her movepool is gargantuan, with moves like Close Combat, Thunder, Thunderbolt, Psychic, Hidden Power, Perish Song, Psyshock, Thunder Wave, U-Turn, Focus Blast, Calm Mind, and Shadow Ball. She also has a signature move, Relic Song, which allows her to change forms. If you don't have a bulky Psychic-type, a fast physical attacker, a priority user, Chansey, or Blissey, then once she uses Relic Song, she will wipe out your entire team.
Finally, the anime. Meloetta was the guardian of the Reveal Glass, a mysterious glass that can change the kami trio between Incarnate and Therian forms. When people wanted to use the Reveal Glass for power, Meloetta sealed the Glass and fled to the forest, where she lived in peace, until Team Rocket sought to capture her. She eventually met Ash and his friends after he saved her from being hurt by falling tools. She was injured by another of Team Rocket's attempts to capture her, and Ash and Cynthia healed her. When she was captured by Team Rocket after the events of the Junior Cup, Giovanni used Meloetta's Relic Song to unseal the Reveal Glass and summon the kami trio in their Therian forms, who were used against Ash and his friends. Meloetta, not wanting to lose her close friends, used up her energy to calm the trio down, although getting hurt in the process.
One Pokemon that is close friends with someone that saved her, risked her life to save him from three powerful legendary Pokemon. That shows how deep Meloetta is for a Pokemon. Similar to Darkrai, this shows that Pokemon can have human feelings, spirit, and integrity. Those are the reasons why Meloetta is my favorite Pokemon of all time. It's not because she's powerful. It's because she is one developed Pokemon that shows her emotional aspects rather than power. Meloetta's actions are unlike any other Pokemon in the anime, with Darkrai being close. She changed my outlook on Pokemon ever since this event, showing me that anime can be art, something that few other Pokemon can ever do. She's one original, powerful, memorable Pokemon for her Relic Song and all of her heroic actions. Meloetta is more than a Pokemon. She's a hero. She's my hero.
