I think they should make Mario Party 9. It sounds dumb to make Wii Party because it takes away the "Mario Party" feeling. Nintendo should abandon this game to make Mario Party 9 becuase as they said, they sold, I think it was, 7+ million copies of Mario Party 8. If they want to make another Party game, they need to continue off of their most popular Mario franchise. What do you think?

(This is not suppose to be similar to the "Wii Party" topic, this is a poll of which one you would want to see released first and why. It's more of a debate.)

Mario Party 9. The "Wii" franchise (As Aegis mentioned) is being over-milked and is becoming quite stale. Though I kind of like the idea of having playable Miis... wait, they did that in MP9 as well. *facepalm*

Mario Party is a much more successful series, despite the recent slump and lack of releases. People would rather throw a party with Mario characters and goofy minigames, rather than use Miis in a trip around the world. (Monopoly anyone?)

I've gotta say its a slight toss-up. I'm a huge fan of the Mario Party series, but if i wasn't i wouldn't be on here lol. But the Wii Party idea does sound interesting. So maybe we can compromise and make both. But if not just make MP9 and make people stop complaining aboout it all the time!

While I wouldn't say the Party franchise is Nintendo's most popular Mario vein, I wholeheartedly second the notion of ditching Wii Party. They should've taken what was started in MP8 a step further in MP9 and added Miis to the character roster instead of make a full-blown formulated title. However, Wii Party lacks Wi-Fi play, and Hudson may see this as a window of opportunity to develop an online Mario Party, possibly for the 3DS. At this point, though, because Wii Party hasn't even hit the shelves outside of Japan, it's too soon to discern the difference between plausible theories and wishful thinking; we simply need more time to see how this game will dictate the market before jumping to conclusions.
