MQJinx: First Intro

If there's any series that defines "speed," it's Sonic. The music usually compliments this energetic feel, although there are some that leave emotional impact. Let's look down the ten Sonic nonvocal songs that got into me the most.

Green Hill Zone - Super Smash Bros. Brawl
10. Do I even need to say?

The song that started it all. This song made it for nostalgia from the very first Sonic game, and also a nice energetic beat.

Spoiler

Sonic Adventure DX Music: End of E102 (unbound)
5. Unbound

Meet E-102 Gamma, a robot of Eggman's that appears to have emotions. He was disturbed by Eggman's treatment of his own line of E-series bots and also has strange sympathy for a bird which Eggman told Gamma to abduct. He betrayed Eggman and set out on a mission to free the animals held in his brothers. The final boss of Gamma's story is his big brother Beta, heavily modified. As Gamma walks towards Beta out of sympathy, Beta shoots Gamma, badly damaging him. Beta explodes revealing the bird that was captured. Gamma then realizes that Amy's bird and Beta's bird are in the same family as his own bird. Gamma, wanting freedom from control, explodes, freeing the bird. If this heartwrenching family reunion isn't enough to leave an impact on your mind, the music that plays with this death will. This death hit me hard for how developed Gamma is, even for a robot. Gamma, I will never forget you.

So with 9 songs out of the way, there is one question: What is my favorite Sonic nonvocal song?
#1

Spoiler

Sonic the hedgehog 2006 "Solaris Phase 2" Music
1. Solaris Phase 2

This song. This remix of His World stands out as the ultimate Sonic song of all. This song has impacted my take on Sonic in many ways. First off there is the joy that even a terrible game like Sonic 06 can have good qualities in visuals and music. Next off is the amazing usage of instruments like strings and guitar with a choir and professionally blending them. Even though such a potential for a great game and this great song was wasted, no matter how bad things may seem, Sonic will always have awesome music, and is slowly rebuilding greatness.
