please continue to draw, your stuff is really good. Do you mind me asking what tablet and program you use?
Thanks, Snowy! I used to use a regular Wacom Bamboo, but the wiring came loose to the point where it was unusable. The tablet I use now is a Bamboo Connect, and the art programs I use are SAI when I want something a little more serious or FireAlpaca when i'm doodling for the hell of it.

Am I supposed to know who Sony-Shock is? XD
no. But she's one of my favorite artists!

Anyways, this secret santa is all I have that's display worthy at the moment, sadly. Everything else has been nothing but doodles and sketches, aaaa

I've been thinking of getting a Bamboo, is it worth the price for someone starting out? And I've heard that SAI was great. Do you know if GIMP works just as well?
While it's quite pricey, i'd say it's definitely worth it. My starting tablet was a Bamboo, and in my time with it it worked beautifully on a lot of programs, had good flow, and was really easy to get a grasp on. Sucks that the wiring bit the dust, although I enjoy its replacement just as much.

I've had GIMP when I was a total newbie, and to be honest, GIMP isn't a program i'd recommend at all as a SAI replacement. It has a confusing interface, a steep learning curve, and it tends to lag the entire computer if you're using a machine that has fairly small storage space. Firealpaca is a better free alternative to SAI, as the simple interface is much easier to get a grasp on and it's nicer to computers with low space.

And to conclude, here's a sketch preview of something I've been working on for a bit.

Man, your art is pretty fantastic. Keep doing these, GC! You're good at it!

Also, as far as GIMP goes, it isn't a good program to make art with because it's literally an image manipulation program, akin to that of Photoshop. It's meant for editing rather than drawing or creating. I used to make a ton of animated GIFs with it but then my computer started to freeze up everytime I had like 6 GIFs in storage. It's really the poorman's choice BUT I'd still recommend it for anybody who doesn't want to spend money on another program, BECAUSE it CAN create good art, you just have to tinker with it a hell of a lot.
