It's a Fact.

Hummingbirds can fly backwards, and they can also hover in midair even in the rain. And while in flight hummingbirds have the highest metabolism of any creature, except insects. It is no surprise that the Aztecs depicted one of their gods, Huitzilopochtli, as a hummingbird.

Qantas has had crashes: the most recent fatal crash took place in 1951, but since the airline adopted the use of jet engines they have been accident-free. "Qantas never crashed," was repeated endlessly by the autistic character played by Dustin Hoffman in the film Rain Man. He was almost correct!

It's Crap.

Lycopene is a cancer-fighting agent, but it is found in tomatoes, not mustard. Mustard has its own cancer-preventive component called sulforaphane, a compound that is also found in other foods like horseradish, broccoli, and wasabi. And these foods in any combination magnify their individual preventive properties. This makes a salad of broccoli, and tomatoes covered in a mustard, wasabi, and horseradish sauce sound like a healthy choice.

This statement should go into the crapper. But it is interesting to note that the first time the sound of a flushing toilet was heard on TV was during an episode of the 1970s sitcom All in the Family.

It's Crap.

This statement is a double misfire. First of all, steel cannons were not used during the Crimean War. They were introduced and manufactured as early as 1851, but the military did not take steel cannons seriously and remained committed to bronze cannons until the late 1870s. And secondly, the Pulitzer Prize medal was downgraded in 1987 from solid gold to a 24-carat gold-plated silver, but it was never minted in steel of any kind.

Drag queens were never involved! The American comedy-drama series by Marc Cherry was an idea conceived by his mother after watching a news report about Andre Yates, the Texas housewife who committed murder while suffering from postpartum depression and postpartum psychosis. Mother knows best!
