DK/Bowser Space? (Mario Party 8)

What did you think of the DK/Bowser space on MP8? I personally hated the idea of it, once you get DK you can't get the DK space again UNTIL you land on a Bowser space, which was SO annoying. Since I want to see my man DK, and not that dang koopa. >:/

Thoughts?

It's pretty much what you said, only the opposite, I wanted to see Bowser more often, not DK. But what Bowser and DK did wasn't really special in the first place so it really doesn't matter.

It's pretty much what you said, only the opposite, I wanted to see Bowser more often, not DK. But what Bowser and DK did wasn't really special in the first place so it really doesn't matter.

It was a nice concept, but dealing with Bowser is annoying because he'll usually take a star away from you, while DK would give you a free star.
 
The whole idea of the DK/Bowser Space on Mario Party 8 was terrible.

I just hated the idea of not having DK AND Bowser Mini-games(yes...I said Bowser Mini-games). I thought the mini-games made it more interesting and entertaining in my opinion. DK just doing something that MIGHT NOT benefit you for getting something good is pretty lame.

Take the DK Space on Shy Guy's Perplex Express for example. He doesn't automatically give you something good...instead he waits for the first player to visit him at the front of the train to give that player a free star. I thought that was totally lame. :/
 
I'd hate to be a bother by bumping this old topic..  but..

Something like this sounds like something from Mario Party 6  (Like Daytime, you only get DK spaces..  and Nighttime, you get Bowser spaces), except for forcing the user to land on a Bowser space in order to get the DK space, regardless of the time of the day.

To me, that's like the worst move to ever be created by Hudson Soft.  They should've sticked to the original plans.  "Making the own Bowser and DK spaces as separate spaces.

But you know, Mario Party 8 is the worst Mario Party game ever.  I suppose it shouldn't matter now.  XD

Just wanting to say my input.  Likewise what others said, they should've brought back minigames (and NOT Lucky based minigames.  *coughcoughMarioParty5BowserMini-gamescoughcough*)

Yea I'm with you on that, I hated the concept too but MP8 sucked overall anyways. : P
 
I hated these spaces on Mario party 8. DK doesn't even help you automatically on King Boo's Hideaway and Shy Guy's Perplex Express. DK just waits for the first person to get there to give them a free star when they didn't even land on it. Bowser on the other hand, doesn't even give you a chance to let you keep your coins or stars anymore. I prefer the DK and Bowser mini-games.

Yeah, I have no idea what they were thinking. The forcing of landing on the space was pretty stupid. I wonder what gave them the idea to combine them into one space. It sucks for those people that roll small numbers, like me, to get to DK first.

I didn't really mind that Bowser's at night and DK is in the Day. I hardly ever land on Bowser anyways. But at least you don't have to land on Bowser just to get DK back.
 
I thought that Bowser and DK spaces where at their best in Mario Party 6, since they had both mini-games and bonuses, but nothing too annoying like Bowser Revolution or Swapping Coins(shudders). 

It was annoying in Mario Party 7 when every single time it was a mini-game, and Mario Party 8 was just a bad idea. 

I liked how in Mario Party 4 Bowser mini-games, there was the one loser that got roasted, It made me lol!
