Yeah, my father works through the day. Sometimes he goes on to business trips, though he's usually able to return on the same day.

Both of my parents work, and I see them everyday.
Both my parents work during the day so I see them after 5. However my mom is a nurse and her shifts vary, so sometimes I might see her when I get home, or see her at like 10 pm 
My mom does real estate...yeah. My dad stopped working like 2 years ago idk what he does now.
