Convince Me That Mario Party is a Good Franchise

Because the first games actually had creativity and a fun and enjoyable system of gameplay that the others had means that my post shouldn't be taken seriously? Really? Honestly, you tell me that MP7 and MP8 are way better than the N64 installments? Those had terrible minigames, side-missions, boards, etc. while the first three brought us something enjoyable to the table everytime.

http://And then you embrace Mario Party Advance?
I mean, I liked Mario Party Advance for what it was but it doesn't even deserve the Mario Party title IMO as it wasn't very enjoyable after a few playthroughs. It was also way too single-player oriented (which sucks bad if you ask me) and the little side-missions you had to go through like every other turn were not fun at all and began to feel like a chore after a while.

So because it was more of a single-player direction you didn't find it enjoyable? I ADORED it, mainly because you don't have stupid people just running on luck throughout the entire game and this had a more balanced scoring system. I'll admit the side-missions were kind of dumb, but the overall system is some of the best party gameplay I have ever played.

Well I'll just quote what I said in the "rate Mario Party 1" thread.
I haven't played it in a while, but I guess give it like 3.5/10

I just didn't like it. I'm not one to enjoy games purely on "nostalgia".
Way too many games were coin minigames and pretty much every game had you "collecting coins out of a box or something"
Way too luck-based gameplay, Mario's Rainbow Castle was just walk to the end and risk getting a ztar. At least Castaway Bay was funner and different and wasn't purely luck based
And the AI was so unfair! They always get the stars no matter what. And then sometimes they did stupid decisions like going to a Bowser space when they could get the star in going in another direction or something.
Grapphics are meh (well it is 3D 64 so I guess I can't really say that)
Too much luck implemented, luck minigames, chance time, etc.
Gameplay in minigames was annoying, it took like 80 minutes to turn a character around in another direction without them sliding all over the stages. And the jumping. Oh god the jumping took like an hour to jump.
It's not all bad though. Some of the minigames were fun like Skateboard Scamper and Hexagon Heat (mushroom mixup, same thing) and platform peril.

And about the MP7 and 8 thing, absolutely. The N64 MP's were massively annoying too often. And I didn't think the mingames in 8 and 7 weren't terrible at all. (there were a few, but for the most part, they were pretty good)

I said I liked it for what it was, but as an MP game it's just not good IMO. I wanted to play some typical Mario Party 4 player action. The main single player agameplay was very boring and it was nothing but doing side missions and HOPE you have enough spaces to continue.

Also, MP may have a bit of luck implemented, but it is NOT, I repeat, NOT throughout the entire game. At all.

I don't rate it based on nostalgia, I rate it based on the enjoyment of minigames. MP1-3 had some real neat ideas for minigames while the later installments are just rehash after rehash with no more originality (besides the motion control with Wii, which I do admit were neat lil' ideas)

Like what? How is it rehash? I can see some ideas were reused, because I think it's cool seeing some resemblances and throwbacks.

Also, why are you in Mario Party Legacy if you don't like Mario Party? That is a very stupid idea.
If then, just go to General Video Gaming Forums!  :what:

Uh, dear sir, I have been a member of MPL since January 2010, so about 2 years now. And before that, I was on the original Mario Party Forum since 2008.

I don't have to like MP in order to associate with this community. Some of these people I have known for years and I'm not going to give up that friendship just because I don't like a certain series.

Stop judging.
