As stated earlier I do think it is stupid, but I surprisingly am pretty popular. I do nave quite a few friends like 15 or so but they aren't the really cool people...

To add on to my previous post: I don't really care about popularity. Most seniors are mature enough to act like adults, so for me I just don't really care for it. I'm going to be friends with anyone, I don't care about their "social status".

Many people (and teachers, b/c of my siblings LMFAO) know me in my school, and I get praised over practically nothing (some individuals will clap and shout when I go in the halls), but I really just consider myself as a kind, timid, passive, nerdy person. I don't really care about my "popularity" though and just stay myself.

Also I don't know if your schools are way different than mine but nobody gave a crap about who was on student council. Like that was cool to be on in Elementary school and then lame after that. I'm pretty sure most people couldn't name who was on it.
We have Student Council as well but ehhhhh it doesn't seem very active. Really the students there are mainly the speakers of assemblies (i.e. they're the ones mainly speaking during anti-bullying assemblies) but aside from that, it's not really special.
