Mario Party 9!!!!!!!!
This new Mario Party was released in March for the Wii. How does it stack up? Let's find out!
History!
The Mario Party series began in 1999 for the N64 the game became a smash hit (hence why the series has a site like this.) The characters were Mario, Luigi, Peach, DK, Yoshi, and Wario. Sequels followed in one year increments. Mario Party 3 introduced Daisy and Waluigi while number 4 brought it over to the Gamecube. Mario Party 5 dropped DK and traded him for Toad, Boo and Koopa Kid. Mario Party 8 took two years to make and was the first one for the Wii.
Presentation!
There is only one real goal for the presentation: to say that Mario Party is back and Mario has finally got an actual driver's license! Why do you think there was such a long break? The car now transports EVERYONE around a linear board at once. Also, instead of buying stars using coins, you just drive around and collect mini stars. New boss battles also show up in special mini games!
Graphics!
The graphics on this game are nothing special, it the normal cartoony graphics. They are a huge increase in quality from 8 though. Bob omb Factory is very detailed though.
Characters/Boards!
There are 7 boards (two unlockable) and 12-14 characters (also two unlockable)! This means that you can tire of one board then go to the next. They also allow 2,3, or 4 people to go into a car at once meaning you can party while only having 2 people! Blasphemy!
Features!
It has a Party mode (play the boards), a minigame mode (explains itself), a story mode (play through all of the boards trying to stop a hidden enemy (HINT: Do you really need this)), a new museum where you can spend the Party Points you've earned (By playing the boards and minigames), and of coarse an options mode!
Average Crispiness!
It is a really good game but it's main problem is that it is the ninth in a series! If you love this series or just getting started, PICK THIS UP TODAY. 15 out of 19 chicken legs!
