Semester 2 of uni starts on July 25 AEST.
At least it's better than in 2013 where I have clinical rotations that start at odd intervals. ._.

I think my college always starts off on a Tuesday. So I actually probably start August 23.

Well apparently that's Labor Day so I guess that's what he was talking about.
I still go to school on Labor Day though, my college only gives off Thanksgiving and MLK day (plus we have a fall break & spring break).

Yeah, my school doesn't have Labor Day off. Most schools don't.
Most public schools do. We had it off in elementary/middle/high school & most colleges have it off too, mine is just weird. I guess our semester finishes a little earlier than most though so I can't complain. I'll be done with my classes by the week after Thanksgiving & exams within a week of that. Then I won't go back until the 2nd week of January most likely.
If you think about it though, summer breaks make absolutely no sense. Like I'm glad we have them but its really bad for learning. I think the most logical way to make schools would be to have them year round (with the frequent breaks) but allow kids to move at their own pace. So kids who are ahead progress to the next grade quicker than kids who might need some extra help.

We start on the 6th, we've always had Labor Day off.
Sometime late August for me (25th-27th) but I'm not really thinking about that though. Taking some bastard hard classes this year, well for me anyway.

I got my schedule for my new high school and I have to take a freshman class. Apparently, since my homeschool didn't give me world studies, I have to take it this year. Thank goodness I'm short 
I have to wake up at 4:30 for school tomorrow because I like being awake for an hour before I leave. I have to leave by 5:30 so I can be at school by 6:30 (Since I decided to take a 0 hour class). I'm not really nervous, as I am anxious.

My school starts on September 6th or 7th.
August 15 for me. 2 classes for Monday and Wednesday, 2 classes for Tuesday and Thursday, and one online course. 5 classes for the Fall 2011.
