I would post the whole list, but this was Nintendo Power's Top 20 Games (of the 100 they posted and I can't find) in 1997:

I posted this list for two reasons:
1.) Of course being that all three Donkey Kong Country games are on the list, but also because how high DKC3 is ranked for the Top 100 SNES games (from 1997 and back). DKC3 was released in 1996, just a year before, so I wonder if that has anything to do with it, but just seeing all 3 on the list is cool enough. (I want to say Rare only released 5 SNES games at that point also. The other 2 being Battle Toad games and no games being released in the year 1997)
2.) The amount of Square published games on the list. 5 made it to the top 20. I would say Square was probably Nintendo's best 3rd party company for the SNES (even with the DKCs) though that's just because of the RPG element. I would take the DKCs over Super Mario RPG or Final Fantasy IV, but just the amount of solid RPGs that the SNES had would probably be the Golden Age (so to speak) for RPG gamers
But that was just the purpose of this topic; just thought it was interesting piece of information.
