Anyhoo. I don't just host this site, I host around 20 accounts for people. I run LevelUpHost.com. I host Nintendo Fan Sites, as well as sites that have really nothing to do with Nintendo at all. This is just one of the sites I host because I am happy to do so.
I sent an email a few days ago about no swearing, to the people I host. Not just SZ about SMPS. It was an email I sent to a variety of people, everyone so far I have seen to have taken it quite fine.
I really came up with adding this policy when I noticed a site I had been hosting for a couple years or so had a page with tons of swears in the reviews. I thought about it for awhile, and came to the conclusion I couldn't support/host something that has all these swears which I am against. So I made the policy, wrote why I felt that way and I sent the email off to various people I host, including SZ. I said essentially at the end, they can either remove swears they have, or simply leave by May 10th. I'm not forcing anyone to not swear, all the people I host can simply leave.
And you know, the site that had those swears which brought this to my attention, did leave. And he was so very kind and mature with his email. He thanked me for the hosting I had given him, and he got how I was sticking to my convictions. He didn't complain, or get mad, he simply chose to leave.
So please remember, I'm not forcing anyone to not swear. I can't do that, I don't have the power to do something like that. I can however not spend my money on something I am against. Why would I.
So in conclusion, remember, I am a free webhosting provider who does this to help some people out. I'm not forcing anyone to do anything, people can simply get hosting somewhere else. There are some hosts if you look at there terms don't allow 18+ material, and some that don't allow other things. It's a web hosts right to allow what they want on their service.
I'm happy to host Super Mario Party Site, but I'm not happy to host something that I'm strongly against, wouldn't make any sense.

First, I want to point out that if it were not for Joey upping our bandwidth for the 3rd or 4th time, you would be seeing a "500 error" right now. He runs our entire Forum and site Free. He doesn't make me change things he doesn't like here on the site. I have done everything here the way I wanted too. Not only that but he has also helped me with so many things regarding errors, installing, and changing a ton of things on the site and forum. So when something as samll as a new policy like this comes along, I don't have a problem agreeing with it, especially since we don't have that many people swearing in the first place.
And I'm taking a lot of blame for all this disagreement and so many upset members becuase, truthfully, I don't think this new policy was even intended for us. I'm sure one or a few of Joey's sites have a ton of swearing, way worse than anything here, that he won't allow.
And I don't know about this OMB incident or what it even was so I can't comment on that.
I asked Joey if it's all right to show the new policy to everyone and he was fine with it. Joey is obviously going down a very religous path so having to get rid of something he does not approve of on the sites he hosts, makes sense. Here it is :

I am a Christian, a firm believer in Jesus Christ, and have been growing in my faith and walk with Him for the past several years, since I blessedly accepted Him as my Lord and Savior. Year by year, and day by day I seem to learn more, and become more and more aware of things around me.
I don't want anyone to take offence at the new policy or policies which may arise. I host sites absolutely free, because I wanted/want to help some people out. You can always choose to leave if you don't agree, I would understand. But I hope you all can understand, I am a firm Christian. I don't say I am a Christian, go to Church on Sunday, and then do whatever I want the rest of the week. I want to follow Him who saved me every second of every day.
I have been thinking of whether or not to just close my entire hosting service down, or just making some new policies. I host close too twenty sites for various people, most I have for over a couple years now. So I thought I should at least try and see if some would want to stay under a new policy.
This is really what the new policy is. No Swearing Allowed. This may seem big to some, and not a big deal to others. But the way I look at it is, I am against swearing. I hate hearing it, I hate reading it. There is really no need to swear. I can't go on supporting sites that contain swear words. It might seem like such a small ridiculous rule to you, but its important to me, I cannot go on paying money that hosts swears online, or anything else that is very offensive. In a way it makes me apart of it.
So in conclusion, I hope you at least understand, even if you don't agree with me. I cannot support something I know is wrong, it would make me a hypocrite.
I am not perfect myself, I sin, I sin everyday, I think we all do. But I to try and not too, even though I still will of course. It's only by the Grace of God we can be forgiven and saved.
Anyway, if you have any swears on your sites/forums that are being hosted by me, please remove them. For sites that do have swears, I will give until May 10th, 2010 to delete them, or simply find a new host.
