Over-Singing At Church

I really dislike the singing part of church to begin with. And I hate church a lot anyways so being forced to go is never pleasant & I probably hate the singing so much because its harder to zone out with 200 people singing around you.

But yeah, I've gone before & there's been one person who is singing way too loudly & is absolutely terrible at it. Why churches encourage this behavior, I do not know.

As much as I dislike singing in church, churches that don't have any singing strike me as weird. I'd assume they're all no-nonsense, fire & brimstone bullshit. I thought singing was standard in your normal church. I know it is for Catholic, Lutheran, non-denominational & A.M.E. churches at least.

When I had chapel services at school, I always made an effort to sing with as much gusto as I felt necessary. (I was more into the singing rather than the symbolism.) This made others in a 2-or-so person radius turn at me in amazement/disbelief as I was singing, but hey, I enjoyed singing with heart. =)

I'd laugh my ass off if I actually saw something happen like that in person.

This topic made me laugh just thinking about it.
