Well a couple hours ago it hit the Moon. While I do think blasting the moon is wrong, it will be interesting seeing if there's water or not.

Also it only left i think a small crater. Not a big one. The moon will still look the same at night.

They are sending a missile up to the moon that will hit the surface and cause debris to fly in the air (not air but you know what I mean. ). A second rocket/missile whatever it is will follow it and see what came up from the blast. It will give scientists data on what is in the moon and one thing they are looking for is water. This all already happened and scientists are now analyzing the data.
