Since I live in America. we use the stupid English system. It's such a pain since the rest of the world uses Metric. I wish we'd convert because our system's just...well you know, gay and makes no sense. =P I do use both, only in Physics class because we have to.

What system do you use?

Okay. I'm going to be honest now.

What's the difference between the two?

As Cook said, A LOT. Here is a small bit: (This isn't even the tip of the iceberg =P)

Unit of Length:

English: Inch..................12 Inches=1 Foot.................3 Feet=1 Yard............................5280 Feet=1 mile
Metric: Centimeter..........100 Centimeters=1 Meter............1000 Meters=1 Kilometer

If you haven't noticed, we use some retarded system that is different than everybody in the world, except England, I think, and the random numbers just make it harder to understand and remember. The Metric system uses units of 10, 100, 1000, while we use 12, 3, 5280. In my mind, WTF was going through the minds of the first Americans to use this system? The only thing we use commonly with the real world is the unit for time. Converting into the other system...well, let's just say you're going to hate it.

I try to use both, but growing up in America...you don't know any better until you get to High School. By then, Metric was a little difficult, and I rarely study it (though I should, seeing as how I plan on moving out of the country).

But in my opinion, Fahrenheit makes more sense, plus it's German (und sie Deutsche sind geil!)
