Although whatever you said was almost correct.
「ええ、日本語を話しませんね～」 literally means, "What? I don't speak Japanese, do I?".

It's fine, as you often can't Translate Japanese to English, or English to Japanese literally, because you'd get weird sentences, otherwise.
Though it confused me a bit, because you didn't use a Subject.
Not using a Subject is also fine, but it felt like you were referring to me.
