Even more characters?

Nothing's there about there being 16 characters. Besides, from that screenshot of the character selection screen it still sounds like there's gonna be 12 characters.

There will be 12 playable characters in Mario Party 9. There is NO Classic Mode as said earlier. And that's a dead link as well. So I don't even believe you.

Well, not all the elements are revealed. Because the Mariowiki said that "there will be 12 characters, plus one unlockable character" from another site that we will never know.

And yet, I still even don't believe them.

Yeah, it's sometimes not reliable. They didn't even cite that. So it's a grain of salt and only to be taken as a rumor.

They THINK to 'surprise' the viewers to add one character while Nintendo has confirmed 12 characters. They also haven't even cited on where the extra one unlockable character is.
