Tattoos

What's your opinion on them? Do you want any?

In general, I'd say I like tattoos. Obviously it depends on the specific tattoo though because I've seen plenty that are stupid, poorly done, or just not my taste.

My boyfriend has 4 tattoos (some feathers on his right shoulder, a torn up map & compass rose on his left shoulder, a koi fish on his ribs & a tree of life on his leg) & I really like all of them. I'd say tattoos are a turn on in a guy as long as they aren't really ridiculous (I know a guy with a gun & spider tattooed on his head, which definitely wouldn't be a turn on lol).

Personally, I think I'd really like to get some flowers tattooed on my right side. Probably 3 or 4 in one cohesive tattoo. The only thing really stopping me right now from going ahead with it is the design (I've been looking a little for designs I like & haven't had too much luck) & the pain. My boyfriend said his tattoo on his ribs was by far the most painful. This coming from a guy with a pretty high pain tolerance, while mine is pretty low. So I think I'd have to be on some serious pain killers to go through with it lol.

Ama on that fat sack of weed for tattoos. (or I can pull some strings for Novacane).

I've had a design and placement for almost a year now, only problem is I never have any cash to get it done (and it's "only" $300-$400 depending on who I want to get it done :p)

My placement would be a "painful" place as well since it comes across my collar bone a little :p But I figure it would be "painful" regardless.

The only ways I can see a tattoo as bad is if you get some matching shit, each others names on you (unless you been married for some years or something is fine in a "creative manner"), and of course the ones that just look bad (that you would see on failblog).

I don't really care why people get them though. Some people get them cause of something meaningful, some people get them because they look cool, and then you get the people that get them cause they look cool and develop a meaningful backstory for them. I've seen all three :p

My brother got a tattoo when he was 16 and now he wishes that he could get his off. Serves him right :p

I don't like tattoos because they're utterly pointless. Why would you put something permanent on your body that you might not always like when you could wear a shirt with that same design instead?

Your brother fits your example for your question ;) Impulse buys are generally wasteful (you loose interest) and buying one that is permanent on your body is bad. Again, your brother is the example. "OMG, I"M 16! I CAN HAZ TAT NOW! WAT TO GET?!!?" And if he needed a parent signature/chaperon to get the tat done (states vary) then I laugh even harder.

@Yoshi15: If he was under 18 when he got the tattoo I'm almost certain he had to have a parent/guardian signature. So that's on your parents lol.

And wearing a shirt is nothing like a tattoo lol. Just 2 totally different things. There are lots of reasons for getting a tattoo, one being the permanent thing. Especially with tattoos that have a lot of meaning behind them, people are looking to get something that will always be with them.

What's your brother's tattoo of?

@Hunt: What design to you want to get?

And yeah, I think getting people's names tattooed on you is weird. If you want to get matching tattoos or a tattoo for someone else, I think you're better off getting something symbolic that isn't necessary just associated with that person. Like instead of getting "Jimmy" tattooed on me, getting an anchor since he's a sailor. Not that I want that, but that's the kind of thing I'm talking about.

Also: this

@Ama I'm talking about matching tattoos in general. My friend went and got one with his woman knowing about the "no matching rule" before hand. "I know the rule, man, but this is legit, right?" "Yea, it looks good, like it's not poorly done or anything."

The "unless you've been married for some years and it's a creative manner" exemption was also broken, fore they aren't married :p And sure enough they break up a year later (total relationship being a year and a half) so now he's stuck with this matching bullshit, and he's gonna always think about that relationship even when he's old :p

Suppose it's good for the girl and him though, since they can be a permanent reminder to each other :p DON"T GO BREAKIN THE RULE, KIDS!
