Its really not all that difficult, there are lots of guides all over the place.

I did brick my Wii trying to mess with it a while back because I was using a shitty guide & didn't know what I was doing, but that was something different (not just the homebrew channel) and I got Nintendo to repair it for $50 =P

I'm pretty sure nobody is actually prosecuted for emulation or game piracy.

And better safe than sorry = super boring life =P
Coincidentally, my life is boring, all right. =P
I used to feel like that, VIP. However, I said "F*** IT" and did it.

As long as you follow the instructions, you won't brick your Wii. I can direct you to a video telling you how, and what we did. Both Ryou and I did it.. It's useful. You can make your Wii play DVDs, play emulators, and get bunches of games they've made 'specially for homebrew, like Jellycar.

*Cough* Pirating can be cool too *cough*

IF it's getting caught you're worried about, then don't. It isn't illegal or anything, just frowned upon. Also, emulation is legal if you have the game you're emulating.. or, it's legal if the game isn't sold on the market anymore.

^ wrong to both of those; it's illegal regardless. But that's besides the point.

I have an R4 (DS flash cart), EZ Flash IV (GBA flash cart), countless emulators on my laptop/phone and, of course, I've modded my Wii. COME GET ME LAW ENFORCEMENT >:D

On the Wii, you won't believe how fun it is playing the old GB/GBC Pokemon games on the big screen, for example. Though what makes these fun is the x15 speed. If the game's important to me (like EarthBound, DKC123, the Mario games and so on) I prefer owning the physical copies in addition to emulating them. I'm an emulation supporter and I don't give a s*** if it's illegal, it's a great way to play lots of games.
