Assuming that Luma has no partner in Mario Tennis Open at the moment, who do you think will be his team mate? All of these characters have appeared in Super Mario galaxy at some point. If you think Luma will have a completely different partner, who and why?

In Mario Kart Wii, Rosalina has a Luma floating around her and therefore is the most likely character to be chosen in my opinion. However, Nintendo may want to show Luma as an independent character, that can appear without Rosalina's assistance. It will be interesting to see people's opinions on who the final character will be before they are announced.

I will lock voting as fast as I can after the final character has been revealed, so please vote ASAP.

Coach is the penguin guy that you meet in Beach Bowl galaxy and I think it is the Manta Ray Racing Galaxy to. He is the one that gives you the power star.

He's the big penguin in the 'Loopdeeswoop galaxy'. You have to race to try and beat his time to receive the star. It was my favourite part of the game! :p

If you exclude Miis, the female roster is only Peach, baby Peach and Daisy! There are two Peach's, and even the she-male Birdo isn't in! A highly disappointing female roster; Luckily for you, this makes the final character most likely to be Birdo, Rosalina, Toadette, Baby Daisy or Kamek.

I'd be really disappointed if they chose Baby Daisy and not Baby Mario, I'm not a huge fan on the babies, but that would be really dumb if they didn't put in Baby Mario.

I'd be really disappointed if they chose Baby Daisy and not Baby Mario, I'm not a huge fan on the babies, but that would be really dumb if they didn't put in Baby Mario.

I agree. I'd also like to see the return of Toad, but that's unlikely since we already see the blue-vested red-spotted Toad working as the Shop Clerk and a Referee.
But if somehow Toad and Toadette get in I will explode into happy pieces, and basically tell Nintendo:

It is unlikely they will. I hope Rosalina makes it in this game is lacking seriously in the female department.
 
Last? Character confirmed... Baby Mario. Out of 16 characters, Nintendo has given us a very generous female roster to choose from: Peach, baby Peach and Daisy. For a game that is supposed to appeal to most people, that is beyond a joke. I can only hope that more characters are made; although I haven't given up all hope yet. I do remember seeing a blue dress with a yellow skirt and a racquet with star symbols on so there is still a small chance Rosalina could appear at a later date. For now though, the roster in my opinion, is worse than Mario Kart 7.  :-\

I'm sure someone would scan them and put them online if you had to buy them. It could work as you can scan Mii codes through a computer screen.

If Rosalina was made as a QR code I wouldn't mind paying for it. Although, what I think will happen is 2 of the characters will be unlockable and 2 will be unlocked by QR. The chances of new characters making an appearance is slim.  :(
 
evan though i probably should've saw it  coming i was suprised that dry bowser was in and espacially that dry bowser is i think lumas partner i like luma and dry bowser being in and also baby mario and baby peach because none of them never really been in enough games these are the amount of times these characters have been playable baby peach:2 mario baseball wii,mkwii    luma:1 super mario galaxy 2 cooperative (2 player) play but thats still not a fair go        dry boswer:1 mkwii        babymario:3-4 around that          i think there should be more female mario characters in every game apart from mario baseball that is the only series that has a fair amount of girl characters there should be characters like birdo and toadette in more games even daisy didnt even make it into mk7 seriously?  :mad:

Dry Bowser/Luma is a strange pairing indeed. I hope they didn't intend it; maybe they ditched Bowser's classic pairing with Boo and paired him with his undead self, leaving Boo and Luma as floating playables.
So characters with limited exposure should never appear in spin-offs? Um I could probably only say that for Luma, the others are important in modern games.
Daisy was in MK7 >.>
Mario has been a male-dominated series, and let's not talk about Birdo's gender. >.> Unfortunately the trend is a main female character will be a plot device (i.e. SAVE ME MARIO sort of thing) so I really don't know...

I would really like some new info to feed in since while many places say "16 characters, more to unlock", it's not a certainty.
And I can't see Baby Mario being unlockable XP

I would be in the same reaction as you if the two of them were confirmed!  :-D

Of course, they do have a chance with the QR codes (Toad was a ref and character who appeared on the menu in MT64; yet, he was still playable). However, the final character seems more likely to be Baby Mario at this point of time.

Disappointing, considering the fact that I really lost interest in this game after hearing that Toad and Toadette were not playable in this game.  :'(

Isn't Bowser already paired with Bowser Jr? That could leave Dry Bowser paired with Boo because they are both undead. With the absence of Birdo, Luma could be paired with Yoshi. The pairing is not completely odd because Yoshi has appeared in Super Mario Galaxy 2 which contained Lumas. I just thought Luma's partner would be someone more interesting like Rosalina, who could have made her first appearance in Mario Tennis, with a unique outfit. :-\
