I believe the Multi-Star Purchase event has been buggy depending on the emulator. Feel free to join the MPL Discord and ask for a solution there, there have been some floating around but I'm not 100% sure which have been tested to work for sure.

An all-new version of Peach's Birthday Cake (MP3) released! Includes enhancements in many events for both code and utility, as well as art assets. Most notably, Magic Lamps are now legal items and loaded models will never disappear from the board. Also fixes the bugs involving the custom bonus star.

Nice ideas! I had an idea recently to balance the Plunder Chest where it'd steal a random item from any opponent. Less reliable, but also less controlling on the item economy.
