I think it was because it was completely useless. All you could do is walk on water, which may have been replaced by the fact that Dash Yoshi can walk on water. What do you think?

I honestly think Nintendo made a mistake on this one. The Ice Flower had a lot of good uses, and was used a lot during SMG1. If they had to take out a power up they should've removed the Boo Mushroom. It wasn't used a lot and it was difficult to control.
It was cool to have, but it was pretty much useless. I liked the uniform, but it just wasn't very useful. It would have been cool for them to implement it like NSMBW to be able to freeze enemies.
I liked the Ice Flower better than the Fire Flower, tbh. It was fun freezing your enemies, then using them as platforms. Like Yoshi juice in SMS.
