What the heck happened here?

Wait the topics are gone... Wait there's some boards missing. I bet you're all wondering what the hell happened?

Well the staff has noticed that there's been a lull in activity recently and we were mulling over what our best course of action was. After a lengthy discussion this is what we came up with.

Since the website itself has been gearing more towards a Mario/Nintendo feel lately we felt that it was time to update the forum to that platform as well. Hence, why we got rid of the 10+ Mario Party boards, along with a few others that we honestly didn't need anymore. Honestly I think it looks a heck of lot better and way less cluttered.

Now for the topics. The forum has been around for 7 years now and with all of the members that have come and gone, we have topics on damn near every subject. We felt that it was time for a clean slate and for some of the newer, and even older members to make some new topics to try to bring some life back in here. The duplicate topic rule is being lifted (to an extent) and we're allowing everyone to make brand new topics regardless of it's in the safe or not. That being said if there's a topic you feel that you absolutely need back we can bring it back. That's no issue at all.

Our glorious leader SuperZambezi has also updated the forum software. It almost killed him but he got it done so lets give a big thanks to him!!

We hope you like the changes and all the hard work we've put into this. Truth be told it was only supposed to take one night and it almost took 4 days to finish.

Anyways have fun and lets get crackin on those new topics!!!

Glad it's all back in working order. Everything old is all new again! Let's hope for the same activity that we had back in the early years, and hope 2015 brings in new members, even those from the website. Looks like I'll re-create those topics again, if needed. But because of the Mario/Nintendo feel, strictly games from Mario/Nintendo. Games from other platforms don't seem to warrant enough discussion.

Oh boy. :p

Other random things to note. For some reason some avatars are missing. I have a folder of all the avatars so if you need to get it from me, feel free to ask (and tell me what it was!).

Blogs that haven't been posted in since October were archived. If you want it back, just let one of the admins know. Likewise, if you want your blog archived, please let us know as well.

There might be a few other things, I just can't remember!

I believe this can only be a nice change around here. Thanks for all the efforts done to bring this community back to life, I guess it will be awesome to have something more varied and more activity around, I am pretty sure it will make me active and interested again due to all these great efforts, this is awesome.

There is something I will admit I'm glad it's gone and that's the game lodge's huge board LMAO. I mean, it was great at first but as time went by it just got super massive and slightly repetitive. It was hard to get a new game every month and such and I think it was indeed time to let go.

Really satisfied with the changes at most parts. It will obviously take a bit of time to get used to the new Fan Board which is smaller and obviously the entertainment board gone, but it shouldn't be too bad haha. These old navigating hands need some time hahaha.

We condensed everything, as with the low activity, there's just no need for so many boards. Anything you talked about before can still be talked about. Like for Entertainment stuff (TV Shows, Movies, Music, etc.) talk about it in the General Discussion board. All Nintendo stuff (3DS and Wii U) talk about it in the Nintendo board, and so on and so forth. Also, this makes making topics a lot easier, as with less sub categories, it's easier to post in the correct board.

I think it looks neat and clean. I hope all of our veteran members get used to it, and I hope all our new members will find it easier to join in on the discussion. I know it'll take some time to get used to, but it's all worth it in the end guys!

less boards is a good idea, you're probably not going to get a ton of discussion in the general/entertainment boards anyways (don't think a lot of people actually looked at some of those boards) so it's better to just consolidate them so people actually see the topics.

only suggestion i would make would be to move the intro board to it's own category at the very top of the page, so new members can see it right as soon as they log in.
