I have been reading this book in English lately and I have been enjoying it. Did anyone else read this book at some point?

I read it, oh god I hated it. Kino was honestly so annoying. Eww terrible book ;D
They asked me to read to prepare for eighth grade for apparently no reason since I had the wrong teacher. I was kind of shocked how short and different from my usual ideal reading fare was. A lot of classmates who did incorporate it into their ciriculum said it was like the worst book ever, but that may have something to do with their class. I thought it was okay, but the theme of "material possession corrupts humanity" pushes my buttons. The whole time, I was like "Dude, when are you going to sell the thing so you and your family can live a nice life," so the ending made me pretty mad and sad.
Besides the Grapes of Wrath, Steinbeck is the biggest bore.
