Factor out your GCF, and then see how many times it goes in each of the terms.

So for 10x^2+4x-2, the GCF is 2.

Factor in each: 2(5x^2+2x-1)
Get it?
LOL I can't believe an 8th grader is trying to teach me math. :p My Dad is a High School Math teacher by the way, so I can just talk to him.
