Nuzlocke

Anyone else do these?

Rules:
Can only catch the first pokemon you see in an area
If a pokemon faints, you box it as soon as you can or release it
All pokemon caught must be nicknamed
If your entire team faints, gameover


I'm going to start one of these in Emerald this weekend.

Who comes up with this kinda idea? And why call it Nuzlocke? It sounds stupid and I honestly have enough fail when I'm playing it normally.

It's called Nuzlocke because the guy who started it (just a personal challenge) had to catch a Seedot (Nuzleaf) and Seedots suck when you first get them.

It only sounds stupid because you know you'll be bad at it.

I hate this idea, because I know
A. I'd never be able to stick to these restrictions.
B. The Pokemon I'd be stuck with would honestly suck all the time.
C. I'd never clear the game.

Seems pretty simple enough. I assume you can't use your starter? Only tough part would be the boxing a pokemon after it faints (also assuming you can never pull it back out), meaning you would be on constant grind mode

You can use your starter. Yeah, you'll be on constant grind mode, but look at it this way, if you're playing a game with Ditto, you can just make ∞ of any pokémon.

I did 3 of them.

Emerald = Failed to the max, Lost by having the first wild pokemon eat my mudkip.....

Fire red = WIN. Got through, and got my strongest Blastoise in the process

Black ( I have B&W, So i decided to do a nuzlocke run on my least favorite) = Lost towards the end.....

I'm kinda bad at nuzlocke =P

They're tough, and B&W are kind of tough to do a Nuzlocke on.

Emolga can't do shit to a ground type/anything with an electric immunity(Motor Drive, Lightningrod, etc.)
