Welcome to Mario Kart's top playable characters: Toblet's edition!​

This list will include any one who has ever been playable in a Mario Kart game! I've been thinking of doing one of these for a while now and I've finally decided to go through with it!  But my first ever 'top characters' list will have an [size=11pt]exciting twist!!

What 'exciting twist'?
I would like to award my 500 Wii points won in Blizzard Bonanza to one lucky viewer! (with permission from SZ)

Wow great! How do I participate?
Simply predict how I would rate all of the following characters:

Hopefully these are all them. xD They're currently laid out alphabetically and I have already rated them! And remember, anyone may participate!

How will a winner be decided?
There are 33 characters total to rate. You will get two points for every spot-on correct position; this means that there are a maximum of 66 points to achieve! (I will probably leave the country in terror if anyone gets a perfect score =p) I will also award one point to everyone with a character positioned one position above or below the spot-on position. A measly 0.5 of a point is given out if a character is two positions above or below the spot-on position. No points are given out otherwise. For example:

Toblet: I rate blue as #3

Viewer 1: 3) blue = 2 points
Viewer 2: 7) blue = 0 points
Viewer 3: 1) blue = 0.5 points
Viewer 4: 2) blue = 1 point
Viewer 5: 5) blue = 0.5 points

Obviously some will be much easier to guess than others, but since the list is huge and I haven't really expressed my opinions on all of them yet, it would be exciting to see how you think I would rate the characters!

I'd just like to remind everyone that these are my personal opinions and are therefore not necessarily right and I do not mean to offend anyone in the process. If you have any questions please do ask! :)

Who is my most despised Mario Kart character?
Honestly I thought I was quite vocal about this one.
I'm surprised nobody got it right or even close!
So looks like this will shock some people. :p

Funky Kong​

Funky Kong is like Marmite. You either love him or you hate him. I just don't like Funky Kong at all! He's not a Mario character in my opinion so shouldn't really have been given the playable spot in the first place. Besides that, he just looks like DK with sunglasses! Not to mention that very irritating voice! I don't even think I could even shut up his titanic of a mouth if I taped it up! I also dislike how he's the most overused character in Mario Kart Wii just because of a speed bonus - and then some people even try and make it out as if that's popularity! Furthermore, if I could sum up his personality up in one word it word be arrogant. Not my cup of tea at all.

Unfortunately this also means nil pwa for all.

I must remind people that these are just my opinions so please don't be upset if I say anything bad against a character you like.

One thing I've noticed with you is you seem to interpret a post as to how you want to interpret it as opposed to what it's actually saying. :p

Let me summarize:
-A speed bonus does not make the actual character "awesome" or bad - it's the fact that it makes the character overused or seemingly better than other characters even if that's not the case. For example, can you honestly say people value Funky Kong over Donkey Kong? :p
-Not a Mario character
-Relies on both Donkey Kong and Diddy Kong being playable before he can be considered. This is evidence he's not important in the Mario franchise.
-Irritating voice
-Arrogant personality
-Looks like Donkey Kong with sunglasses
-I honestly cannot even name one positive thing about him. That's also why he positioned last.

Anyway, time for the next reveal! Who could it be?

Baby Daisy​

Did she seriously make her debut in a Mario Kart game?? This is a huge no-no. This proves she's not a very significant character and also relies on the other three babies being playable before her before she can even be considered for a playable spot. She's also just a clone of Daisy so is completely unoriginal. Her voice is moderately annoying in my opinion but is the most overused baby in competitive game-play because of her speed stat bonus. However, she's not as overused as Funky Kong which is a good thing I suppose. Thankfully I do personally think though she's the least likely character to appear in Mario Kart 8 just because of her unimportance and reliance on other the babies being playable first, and could easily be replaced by another baby. I honestly believe Mario Kart 8's roster won't be much of an extension over Mario Kart Wii's roster size, meaning that there's no reason for this roster-filler character to return; especially how she's no longer considered 'new' - the main trait that likely got her into Mario Kart Wii in the first place. At least she's a Mario character though!

By the way Brookelas you are missing Baby Daisy, Birdo and Daisy from your list but included Bowser and Baby Luigi twice and The Lost Luma you're missing Honey Queen so you may want to edit them in/out of your posts. :p

Koopa Paratroopa​

I'm quite disappointed myself positioning him so low to be honest. :p I much prefer him over Koopa because I like his red coloured shell, wings and he overall seems less generic. However, though I like him more than Koopa, he's not as important; I have to take into consideration that Koopa will always be the more iconic one and Paratroopa will never get into a roster before Koopa. Had he been more original in his design; for example like Parakarry, he would have positioned quite highly. Overall though, he really is just a clone of Koopa and when it comes down to it, do I really want two virtually identical Koopa's taking up a roster spot from the more original characters, even (regrettably) characters I dislike more? No thank you.

Donkey Kong Jr.​

I haven't really had much experience with Donkey Kong Jr but he's not a character I'm overly keen on. To be honest though, I don't dislike him either. Why I've ranked him so low is because his classic design is too similar to Donkey Kong and he literally is the first unrefined version of Diddy Kong and therefore it would be unfair to rank him any higher than any of the other remaining characters. To be honest, I don't think he should have replaced Donkey Kong in Super Mario Kart even though he was a 'new' character. Fortunately though, like the Koopa Kids, he has (most likely permanently) been replaced by a much better alternative.

Nope. No points this time either. :<

Metal Mario​

Once you get past that cool shiny metallic glow, that's really all there is to this character. He's not unique; he's literally a clone of Mario; exactly a re-texture with a slightly adjusted voice. He's also the Funky Kong of Mario Kart 7 meaning that he's overused because he's the fastest character in the game and he has a small hit box so as-well as his user being able to see and dodge items on the track in front of him more clearly due to his small size, he's also one of the hardest characters to hit with items. This gives his users a very unfair advantage. However, the reason he didn't position lower is because he does have significance to the Mario series. Even though he is just a clone, he obviously bears some importance because he is a reoccurring character and has existed for quite a while now. But ultimately, do I want a retexture taking up a spot from more unique and valuable characters? No.

Unfortunately Brookelas, Metal Mario is not my 2nd favourite character. xD

Birdo​

I really dislike Birdo. I usually refer to Birdo as 'it' mainly because it creeps me out. Also it's just easier to say 'it' instead of he/she because it doesn't even have a fully confirmed gender! I guess you could also say it's a shemale. :p Its voice is just very weird. I don't know whether to laugh or cry when I hear it. It doesn't help matters that it's ugly either. It's also disgusting that it shoots out eggs in completely the wrong place. While I don't mind pink, its whole body, apart from its stomach, is covered in a proper intense hot pink colour that burns my brain juice. I guess the positives of this character is it's somewhat important to the Mario universe and actually has a unique character model. Ultimately though, I think its best role has been a boss character and it should remain as one in future games in my opinion; give the roster spot to someone else please!

Luigifan3DSGCN takes the lead and claims 1 point!
