Jinx Judges a Pokemon: Day 59 (Chansey)

DAY 18: LATIOS
tumblr_nw406ekywn1s9ezb9o1_400.jpg

Being one of the eon duo, Latios is one Pokemon that I've been taking a liking for since RSE. Being a jet dragon, this thing is amazing in battle, especially if it has Soul Dew. This item pushes Latios's Special Attack and Special Defense to insane levels. Do you really want a Soul Dew Draco Meteor coming your way? I also like this thing's design, with jet wings and its body overall resembling a jet.

tumblr_nw406ekywn1s9ezb9o2_540.jpg

Mega Latios, on the other hand, is not as impressive to me. Not only does it have almost the same appearance as Mega Latias, but it only increases in attacking and defensive stats. What kills Mega Latios is that it does not gain any speed whatsoever, and while it has a boost in attacking stats, Latios can simply hold Soul Dew or Life Orb to get a roughly equal amount of power. You're better off using that Mega slot for something else.

Latios: Jet with Soul.

DAY 19: LATIAS
tumblr_nw5uiuNtyr1s9ezb9o1_500.jpg

The other member of the eon duo, Latias has been growing on me since its introduction. Just like Latios, Latias is very good in battle, though on a different case. While Latios has more offensive presence, Latias has more bulk. This bulk is further enhanced by Soul Dew, which makes Latias of dealing with even Primal Kyogre!

tumblr_nw5uiuNtyr1s9ezb9o2_540.jpg

Unlike Mega Latios, Mega Latias is actually worth using in battle in areas where Soul Dew is banned. When Latias Mega Evolves, its attacking stats get boosted, and its defenses are significantly boosted, allowing it to check some top threats such as Keldeo and Landorus. In Ubers tough, just stick with Soul Dew so you could Mega Evolve something else.

Latias: Soul of Mist.

DAY 20: CHARIZARD
tumblr_nw7mo7psWw1s9ezb9o1_540.jpg

Charizard is one of the most popular Pokemon ever since Gen 1. Being a fire-breathing dragon, it sure is one Pokemon that my 6-year-old self would certainly want. Despite this, however, Charizard wasn't really that great in battle, with every new generation introducing something to deal with it, especially Gen 4 with Stealth Rock. Until Gen 6 came along...

tumblr_nw7mo7psWw1s9ezb9o2_400.jpg

Come Gen 6, and Charizard gained two Mega Evolutions, allowing it to finally be a threat in battle. The first one, Mega Charizard X, is physically based, and I like how they changed its typing to Fire/Dragon. Set up a Dragon Dance, and you could feel all those memories of beating every single RBY player around you with your Charizard. Plus its design is amazing by Mega Evolution standards.

tumblr_nw7mo7psWw1s9ezb9o3_400.jpg

Mega Charizard Y, on the other hand, is more specially based, with Drought for even more power. Top that with Solar Beam, and even Water-types have no chance.

Charizard: Nostalgia Regained.

DAY 21: AZUMARILL
tumblr_nw9kn8j81Y1s9ezb9o1_1280.jpg

Azumarill is one Pokemon that keeps getting better each generation. Gen 2 started it out as a Pokemon with mediocre offenses. Then Gen 3 gave it a much needed ability in Huge Power, allowing it to have impressive offensive presence. Then Gen 4 gave it Aqua Jet, allowing it to get past some faster Pokemon. Then Gen 5 made rain easier to set up, further increasing Azumarill's power. Finally, Gen 6 gave it the Fairy type, which, in my opinion, was highly deserved. Combine that with the now legal combination of Belly Drum and Aqua Jet (and Knock Off), and Azumarill is a force to be reckoned with. Plus, I really like Fairy-types in general, as they have plenty of traits that enable them to be potent in battle, such as being able to take on Mega Sableye.

Azumarill: Pixie Power.

DAY 22: SERPERIOR
tumblr_nwbj1g6IqI1s9ezb9o1_500.jpg

Serperior is a snake that looks like it could be the king of all the snakes. That, in my opinion, is an awesome combination. Serperior is also insane in battle, with the ability Contrary which reverses all stat changes. Just teach Serperior Leaf Storm, and it can boost its stats and attack at the same time. It can get out of control very quickly. When Contrary was released, Serperior got banned from all of the lower tiers due to the scariness that its Contrary Leaf Storms have. That shows how something as simple as a new ability can completely change a Pokemon.

Serperior: CONTRARY LEAF STORM!!!

DAY 23: CRESSELIA
tumblr_nwd7klkQ441s9ezb9o1_1280.jpg

Cresselia is one of the toughest walls to break through, with ridiculous defenses. With Rocky Helmet, it can even stand up to Mega Kangaskhan! This thing can not only withstand a lot of attacks, but it can heal another Pokemon by using Lunar Dance. It can even do work in Doubles, slowing down opponents with Icy Wind or helping out an ally with Helping Hand. Plus I like its graceful appearance of a moon swan.

Cresselia: Lunatic Tank.

DAY 24: DARKRAI
tumblr_nwf1g4XgZu1s9ezb9o1_500.jpg

Darkrai is insane. Being the only Pokemon with Bad Dreams, which lowers the HP of sleeping Pokemon, as well as Dark Void to put any adjacent foe to sleep, and you've got a Pokemon that is incredibly difficult to deal with. Plus, it has very high Speed and Special Attack, allowing it to deal a chunk of damage with its attacks. Its concept is also very cool, being a Pokemon that can cause nightmares.

Darkrai: A Nightmare To Face.

DAY 25: GRENINJA
tumblr_nwgyi3Ltpf1s9ezb9o1_1280.jpg

Greninja is an absolute beast in battle. Its ability Protean essentially turns every move into STAB, and it has a gigantic movepool to take advantage of. In addition, its Speed is amazing, being able to outspeed so many Pokemon. This thing has Ice Beam, Dark Pulse, Gunk Shot, Low Kick, Grass Knot, Hydro Pump, Hidden Power, Extrasensory... It pretty much has an answer to everything that it's off against. Also, it's a ninja frog, and ninjas are awesome.

Greninja: Silent Kill.

DAY 26: FERROTHORN
tumblr_nwitquLnMH1s9ezb9o1_1280.jpg

Ferrothorn is one of the sturdiest Pokemon ever, as its appearance suggests. With Iron Barbs and a Rocky Helmet, multi hit users will lose over half of their health from attacking this thing! Not only that, but it can use Leech Seed to sap even more health or set up Stealth Rock and Spikes to make it harder to switch anything in. In fact, a lot of Pokemon run Hidden Power Fire just to hit this thing! It has always been a reliable Pokemon for whenever I needed something that can stack hazards.

Ferrothorn: Wall Nut.

DAY 27: MAWILE
tumblr_nwkonjozK61s9ezb9o1_400.jpg

Mawile didn't really shine in any of its starting generations. While its concept was interesting, it didn't have the battling capabilities to pose much of a threat. Then Gen 6 came along, and...

tumblr_nwkonjozK61s9ezb9o2_540.jpg

Now that is how you make a Pokemon useful in battle. Mega Mawile is a hydrogen bomb in battle, with its Attack reaching a maximum of 678! Its only glaringly bad stat is Speed, but does that even matter when it has Sucker Punch? Just look at those gaping jaws. This thing is capable of denting even Lugia!

Mawile: Brutal Deceiver.

DAY 28: PORYGON2
tumblr_nwmjfxxOgs1s9ezb9o1_250.jpg

Porygon2 has a very unique concept that I like, being a man-made Pokemon with a bunch of computer data programmed into it. In battle, Porygon2 is one of the few Pokemon that can take advantage of Eviolite, being able to take hits from Pokemon such as Greninja, Aegislash, and even Mega Salamence! Also, unlike some other NFE Pokemon, Porygon2 still has some offensive power, making it a very balanced Pokemon.

Porygon2: Duck Tank.

DAY 29: GYARADOS
tumblr_nwob51ZCpn1s9ezb9o1_400.jpg

Ever since Gen 1, Gyarados has always been a brutal-looking Pokemon. It's called the Atrocious Pokemon for a reason. It's based on the sea serpent, and sea serpents are awesome. In battle, Gyarados is very strong, having high offenses, usable defenses, and Intimidate to further lower the damage physical attacks will do to it.

tumblr_nwob51ZCpn1s9ezb9o2_540.jpg

Mega Gyarados is even stronger and even more resembling of a Chinese dragon. Its attack and defenses get shot up, making it even tougher to take down. Teach it Dragon Dance, and you've got a terrifying sweeper, and not even your opponent's abilities can save them, as Mold Breaker allows it to continue its rampage.

Gyarados: Brute Snake.

DAY 30: DRAGONITE
tumblr_nwq5diaYTl1s9ezb9o1_1280.jpg

I couldn't help but feel the nostalgia in Gen 1 when using Dragonite, the original pseudo-legendary. Even though it got worse with each new generation, that all changed in Gen 5, where it got Multiscale. With Multiscale, Dragonite essentially gets a safe turn to do things like set up Dragon Dance to boost its Attack and Speed so it can hit very hard and very fast. Out of all the Pokemon that may get Mega Evolutions in the future, Dragonite is one of my top contenders for Gen 1.

Dragonite: Nostalgia Dragon.
