That Goomba House I didn't even notice. I don't get why they were there, or what purpose of those being in there. An Easter Egg? Or a place where Duels and Battles are hosted? But the house just seems to blend with the board, serving nothing but part of the background. There aren't even any spaces leading to them. Was it an idea that got scrapped?

I only ever noticed the Goomba House on Mystery Land. I never noticed the ones on different boards but I saw them and just discarded them as background. I only ever REALLY noticed it on Mystery Land. Good find though SZ and it was a good article.

I've noticed them in all locations before. I just never really thought about it until I read that article you posted.

Those are probably the Battle/Duel Minigame Goomba's home so he can get easy acess to the boards.
...or maybe they caused Battle/Duel Minigames if you passed them? (Of course, that would make no sence with some locations then)

Seems like Goomba has a house in each board to easily host Battle and Duel minigames.

I've noticed this odd building in every board, especially Bowser Land. I always thought it served as the home for the Battle Goomba who hosts the battle minigames. I also always thought there was a battle space near these one of these houses where the Goomba will emerge from it. I don't think there is any battle space near it. I have a feeling it was a scraped idea involving battles and/or duels. After reading the article, I'm more surprised and concerned about Princess Peach's castle in Mystery Lands's background.

I've heard about it and I've spotted them all since the first time I've played Mario Party 2.
