Freelancing

This past E3, I was lucky enough to run into Sam Claiborn from IGN on the show floor. We exchanged contacts and we've been chatting through email ever since. I sent links to some of my guides (Paper Mario and Luigi's Mansion) and he ended up offering me a paid freelance gig for the Wikis over on IGN. Since then I've done "practice" wiki work by doing their Banjo-Kazooie Wiki and the Villagers page from their New Leaf wiki. After three months of emails, I finally got assigned to do a real wiki, this time for The Wonderful 101.

I would have said something earlier but I wanted to see if anything would come this. Thankfully, it did, and if I do things right with the W101 wiki, it'll continue. It also means that I'll be doing things outside MPL, so that definitely affects the time I spend here. Granted, I'll be spending a lot of energy on the wikis in a short period of time (typically two weeks) rather than in a long and ongoing time, so it's nothing to worry about. It also helps that we are in a news slump right now, so I'm not exactly missing anything. :p

I'm just really thankful that I got so lucky to get this kind of opportunity and I felt like I should let you guys know what I'm up to. Like I said, I'm currently working on the W101 wiki and you can catch my progress here:

Congrats SZ on the freelancing job!

You seem to have a lot on your plate, and I hope you don't fade into the shadows on MPL.
Thanks, and I have no plans to leave MPL or even put less time into it. The only difference is that if I get assigned a wiki, I'll be focusing less on MPL for that period of time (usually two weeks).
