First Person Driving

I tried it while buying presents at Toys R us.
I guess it's not bad, but I prefer the circle pad.

It takes some getting used to, but I'd wish that the gyro wasn't always activated when using the first person driving. It's nice to play first-person while controlling with the circle pad, but just moving the 3DS slightly also activates the gyro controls, which can throw me off with the circle pad control.
Go onto Mario Kart Channel, tap your Mii bottom right, Settings. You can turn the gyro off in there. I found that out a bit late as well.madstarr said:
I like the first person, it adds a lot of uniqueness to it. I completed the whole of 100cc using only 1st person. Although I prefer using circle pad instead of gyro!
Haven't tried it but if it's anything like the Wii Wheel then I won't be using it. Could never get the hang of that damn wheel.

I don't really like it a lot in MK7 you need to be able to see the whole track moreso than a legit sim racer because of all the stuff on the track so it really blinds your vision by only seeing first person. So I don't use it.

It's funny watching my sisters trying to use first person mode.
It's all right, but yeah, it can get in your way. I need to try it out more.
If I'm not mistaken, I think WR attempts for Time Trials are done with the gyro. Odd but I can see why there's this 'pro' spin to the game XD

Late post, but for Wifi I love crucifying myself by plaing on 1PV. But no gyro, that is awful.
I've aced it in Single Player, but I've been recently given a test by H-J to try it out online. I think the results would be bad...
Like the Wii Wheel, I tried it, didn't like it. I prefer the third person view of Mario Kart. I feel like my vision is restricted, like some one used a Blooper but the view point is altered. It's a neat idea though.
I don't really use first-person driving that much. I prefer third-person.
UPDATE: I seem not to like it online. I rather keep the mode disabled during online races.
