Favorite Items in a battle?

I like the shells for some aggressive and tough battles, even some CPUs chase me (mostly in DS Palm Shore) and I had to fall off the stage when they come closer (they might fall off too! ) to 'protect' myself. Not just the shells appear however: The Lucky 7 gives the player 7 Red Shells instead of three!

What's your favorite Item option that you use in Battles?

While I dislike the new version of battle mode, I sometimes just enjoy playing the Balloon Battle mode with just Bob-ombs when I can!
It's a good thing Nintendo made a Community devoted to that from the start! ;D

I love the Shells when I play battles in Mario Kart 7, both green and red. Sometimes I'll play with Shells only. I like hitting karts with shells, which is difficult with greens.

Yes, I also like Bob-ombs as it gets incredibly hectic.
