Crash Boom Bang was, I guess the sequel to Crash Bash released for the DS. It was Sierra's attempt to model off of Mario Party with boards and mini-games, but has problems. For starters the graphics are terrible for a DS game. They really took me back to the Playstation era, but they really didn't pay much attention to what year it is. The minigames all range from easy to hard, and all follow a type, from sports, to puzzles, and racing. There are also other types, but the games in Mario Party never followed this pattern. You're ranking is judged by the amount of points you have, which is typically Wumpa Fruit. The items system isn't all too great, but it does start you off with 8-9 items for free, depending on the character you choose when you make a save file. You start off with only being able to pick Pura, Crash, Coco, or Pinstripe, but clear Adventure Mode once and you unlock Tawna, Crunch, Cortex, and Fake Crash. You also unlock the Hard mode which increases the difficulty, but if you actually play it on Hard mode, it doesn't seem like the A.I. adapts to the change in difficulty. And unfortunenetly these are the only things you unlock by playing Adventure Mode. There are only 6 boards, but there are no set turns system, you have to complete the boards objective, which is always either getting to the GOAL space first or collecting 4 "Key Items" from blank spaces. The game wasn't too well thought out. But it reintroduced Pura, Pinstripe, Tawna, and Fake Crash. All in all though this game gets a 2 out of 5 stars, better luck next time Sierra Entertainment.
