Imagine the Wii U home being a town, and the Wii U shop would be a shop etc.

I'd be more excited about what Antiguy said with the home being a town. I'm not really bothered about the Miiverse.

I saw E3 and I think it is a stupid idea because it's nothing new at all.  :-/

I don't understand why you are saying that, to be honest... Of course, if we compare with some others compagnies, it's not the same, but now, this thing is more "Nintendo", so just this kind of thing is entirely new in this kind of consoles... I've always want to see this kind of feature through Nintendo's side because I'm mostly pround to be a Nintendo fanatic, and prefer to show this side of me, so that's why I'm happy to have this feature.

Miiverse will NOT be able to connect to Facebook nor Twitter.

Miiverse Won't Connect to Twitter or Facebook

Posted Thu, 21 Jun 2012 | 11:00 BST by James Newton

Living in a box

Nintendo's Miiverse social network will start life on Wii U before eventually spreading to Nintendo 3DS and any other web-enabled device, but it won't interact with popular social networks like Twitter or Facebook.

GamesIndustry.biz reports Miiverse will keep its focus on those already interested in video games. Nintendo of Europe's Laurent Fischer told GI:

The community will be the Wii U owners, who will have this common interest for video games and our expectation about that is it's going to be a way to enhance the idea of sharing information on the video game.

Fischer also said there are currently no plans to offer Twitter and Facebook applications on Wii U, citing Nintendo's policy not to offer a service that's already easily accessible on multiple devices; if everyone has these social networks on multiple devices, "what is our benefit to do so also?" asks Fischer.

Of course Wii U will have a built-in web browser so you'll still be able to get your fix of non-Miiverse social interaction for those times when OctoG123 just isn't enough.

...well, it doesn't really matter much (to me, especially since I don't use them (or even have an account on any of them :P))

and if everyone already has them, why would they waste time putting it in when they could put even more awesome features in it?

Leave Facebook and Twitter for the cellphones. Nintendo doesn't need it.

Yeah, it doesn't matter to me as well. I don't use them. Most of the time, porn stars would follow you for no reason. -_-

Even though it might help a bit, I don't think Facebook and Twitter are necessary. I think Nintendo has other plenty ways of socializing with friends on Miiverse.
