Okay, so I played the MP2 version of it. I really think the concept is unique and interesting, but this board was riddled with several flaws.
For some reason, the computers couldn't get to the Star. They'd never pick the path. If you're in luck, it's only because the Toad is standing in the path, meaning the character should be pushed to the other part of the lily pad?
As well, while playing, the layout gets confusing and hard to remember which way to go. I had to loop through a shortcut to get the Star because I picked the wrong path by accident! Also, the fact that the board is one large loop makes it rather slow to get back to the start.
My recommendations:
-Instead of having the lily pads split off at every space, the concept would be better executed every few spaces or so.
-Have fewer spaces on the ends, so they get less emphasis while the lily pads are more of the focus.
-Somehow make it easier to know which spaces each path can get. Scrolling the map in these old games is slow and rather tedious.
