Windows 10
« on: June 02, 2015, 12:42:54 PM »
Because who gives a crap about 9. Is anyone getting 10? Windows 8 looked bad, but my brother actually got pretty used to it, and he seems to get everything done on it. So maybe 10 will be an improvement, but we'll see. BTW, who currently uses Windows 7 right now? :3

I'm using Windows XP because screw vista because my laptop with Windows 8.1 is broken.

Has Microsoft even announced this? It kinda seems like a good idea, but I don't really see why they need to release another updated OS when there seems to be nothing to update.
Ancient trash.

I have 8.1! Did you know that 8.1 users (and 7 too if im not mistaken) can click on the Windows Logo close to the sound button to register for Windows 10 when it launches? And you can even download it for free! :P

I still use an iPad.
But I use a Surface Pro 3 as well, Windows 10 looks interesting, but that new browser "Windows Edge" replacing Internet Explorer looks just like a new Internet Explorer...
I'll still use Firefox.

From what I've heard it's supposed to miles ahead of Windows 8. I'll likely upgrade in the near future; especially considering Windows 7 is already outdated and they're giving it away for free.

hey

You got that free upgrade thingy too?
I don't mind Windows 10 but I like my programs on Windows 7...

Okay, I thought this was a joke because I just got the update thing today. I'm currently still running Windows 7 and I don't know if I truly want Windows 10, though I wouldn't mind.

As a somewhat of a Windows enthusiast I'm really excited for this. Although as a current 8.1 user I will miss the charm bar, I've gotten really used to it. Besides that, I won't really miss 8.1. I've seldom used the start screen, and I'm glad that the Windows 10 start screen is more desktop friendly.

if you have windows 7 or windows 8 you have the option to upgrade to windows 10 for free within a year after release.

i don't think compatibility will be too huge of an issue

The upgrade icon is honestly annoying me, mostly because I don't even know what they're planning to do with my computer with this.
There's a reason I've never upgraded to Windows 8, and this thing isn't telling me if I'll lose such things when I upgrade to 10.

Damn it I want more useful info. =/

Quick google search says no, you won't lose your data. (But it's still a good idea to make a backup, just in case.)

Really, you should try googling this stuff. :P
