So, my continuous patience for an update on the game continues, but apparently I never realized that Playtonic had added two more employees.
Catarina Barros and Dan Murdoch, Barros is a programmer who as worked on several Angry Birds games, and Murdoch is an SFX designer.

I know this probably won't affect the quality of the game since he's just a programmer but...

angry birds......................................
I'm crossing you in style

Playtonic released their Christmas update a while ago.
The Toybox demo for those who selected it in the Kickstarter will not arrive  until early 2016, instead of its planned Q4 2015 release.
They say more updates on development and the game will come soon.

Great!
I was hoping he'd stay for good.

Big update!

Three people joined Playtonic: Hamish, Gary, and Damien. Two were ex-staff of Rare, one is an Australian.

New track by David Wise!

Finally, here is Kartos!

That track is brilliant (as most David Wise's songs are)!
Kartos as well, and more ex-Rare staff!
The game just keeps getting more pieces put together.

I am looking forward to this game. Unfortunately, I have not played many of the Rare titles including the Banjo-Kazooie games though I do really want to some day. But as a gamer that grew up during the 3D platformers I hope this game is very successful and prompts future 3d platformers or old and new IPs.

So, what's the release window on this? was it just 2016 in general?

Hopefully we can get more information and a trailer soon.

While I'm probably going to dump the username I don't want to get rid of the banner though...

We got the E3 2016 trailer for Yooka-Laylee! The game has also been delayed to Q1 2017. No longer coming in October 2016.

It looks so gorgeous, reminds me so much of Banjo. We can see that it will be really amazing.
