Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D

Donkey Kong Country Returns Coming to the Nintendo 3DS

Donkey Kong Country Returns is getting remade into a 3DS title. Obviously, the game will feature the 3D gameplay, but nothing else has been mentioned about what has changed. The game is scheduled to lauch this summer.

Meh. I loved DKCR, but it is way too soon for a remake in my opinion. I would have loved to see something new, even if it was in the same style and gameplay.

Yeah, not sure if I'll just get it. I wonder if there will be some more additions than just the 3D. But it seems to be just a port from the Wii version. And just after like 2.5 years? Wow, it feels like it's too soon, I agree. Or perhaps they're doing this to get ourselves ready for the next big Donkey Kong game, possibly at E3 2013, possibly one of the games Retro Studios may be working on.

- Remake of Donkey Kong Returns
- "This version of the game is being rebuilt for Nintendo 3DS," said Reggie Fils-Aime, president and COO of Nintendo of America.

The trailer is also available now in the Nintendo 3DS eShop.

Another Country Returns installment?
Let me guess this Country Returns 3D for the 3DS so they'll probably have a Country Returns HD for the Wii U.

A waste of time for Nintendo here.

Why would I want a portable version when I can just play it on the Wii still?
It's not that old yet, so it's not even worthy of being remade yet. (I still need to complete some of the levels myself :P)

Even if I love the DK series, this is totally useless. It has only been 3 years (2.5 for Vip) since its release. They could use this time for a new DKC or even a DK64 remake which in my opinion deserves some kind of HD/3D remake. I'm glad they haven't forgotten these games, but I think there are better ways of making money.

Why they didn't put Dixie Kong and Kremlings?

It's too soon for a remake. It's only been 3 years.

Because it's just a remake.

I hope Paon develop a new DK title. Returning Dixie and K. Rool after 4.5 years.

If you like platforming and DK games, then yes, you should get the game. You can even play on the go and experience 3D (which is obvious).

The only downside about the game is that it will likely be at $40, while the Wii version is only $30 (received a price drop some time ago).

For some reason, I never got the Wii version, so I am really happy they are remaking it...
