Title: 3DS E-Shop Games
Post by: Milla Maxwell on April 21, 2011, 01:49:41 PM
The very first E-Shop game confirmed to be on the shop's launch is  Mega Man Legends: 3 which will be in 3D.

As we know Gameboy and Gameboy Color games will also be part of the shop and the only 2 confirmed for now are Super Mario Land and Legend of Zelda Link's Awakening DX. Here's some gameplay videos of both.

MML3/Rockman Dash 3 is not sth I really want b.c. I never got into that subseries.

Lots of hype at Capcom for it tho. :p

I guess I might be looking forward to another Kirby title or just a simple indie-company game xD from th E-Shop (not Virtual Console section)

All I have to say is finally. Soon I'll be able to play exclusive 3D games to the 3DS and legendary GBC games. The two games I'm mostly hyped for are Zelda Oracle of Seasons and Super Mario World: 6 Golden Coins.

Nintendo Announces eShop Update for 6th June

Posted Thu, 12 May 2011 by James Newton

Patience is a virtue

Nintendo of America has just confirmed the long-awaited eShop update for the Nintendo 3DS will hit on 6th June, missing its anticipated late May release.

The company has not announced the reason behind the delay, nor exactly what will be included in the update, but considering 6th June is the day before Nintendo's E3 2011 news conference (http://www.nintendolife.com/news/2011/05/nintendo_confirms_e3_2011_conference_details) it's looking like being one busy week.

Update: Europe and Australia will receive the update on 7th June.

NINTENDO 3DS SYSTEM UPDATE COMING JUNE 6

A new system update for the hand-held Nintendo 3DS™ system will be available in North America the evening of June 6 Pacific time. By downloading the free update via a wireless broadband Internet connection, Nintendo 3DS users can enjoy new features and enhancements, including an Internet browser and access to the Nintendo eShop, where users can browse and purchase downloadable content. For more information about Nintendo 3DS, visit http://www.nintendo3ds.com (http://www.nintendo3ds.com).

And the European announcement:

New Nintendo 3DS System Update Set to Arrive June 7

Nintendo of Europe has announced that the latest system update for the hand-held Nintendo 3DS™ system will be available in Europe starting June 7. By downloading the free update via a broadband Internet connection, Nintendo 3DS users can enjoy a number of new features and enhancements including an Internet browser and access to the Nintendo eShop, where users can browse and purchase downloadable content.

For more information about Nintendo 3DS, visit www.nintendo.co.uk (http://www.nintendo.co.uk).

So it missed the "late May" release. Thanks for delaying it to right before E3 2011 begins.

So Monday, June 6, 2011 is the date we're looking at now, as well as those E3 2011 stuff, too.

Too bad for Europe and Australia getting it a day later, but it's pretty much the same day as North America, anyway.

EDIT: Update on the European announcement.

I don't really mind them delaying, just as long as they can get it fully prepared. I am happily awaiting for that day. Nintendo is looking great this year, so far.

It works like the Wii Shop Channel. You buy Virtual Console games there, such as Game Boy, Game Boy Color, and Game Boy Advance.

Actually, it's only the demo of it. I heard that it's not the same as the actual game. It'll be a small game of its own.

GBA isn't confirmed but it would be nice to be able to play pokemon emerald on the 3ds. If they do have the 3rd generation pokemon games, I wonder how you would transfer pokemon to b/w, or if you just wouldn't be able to transfer them.

Just remember, this is for Japan only.

Some nice titles they're getting, especially Super Mario Land. We've yet to know the North America/United States launch on Day 1.

KIRBY'S DREAM LAND!?!?! I don't see why they shouldn't release all the GB games they're getting for us since all that matters is the text language in the game. By the way A Link to the Past DX was supposed to be a launch title so I guess Japan isn't getting it.

But then again...I could always emulate these...

Here's Europe's E-Shop launch day line up:

Pokedex 3D (Free)
Excitebite (Free for first month)

Virtual Console (Game Boy)

Super Mario Land
Alleyway
Tennis

No third party 3DSWare titles for Europe, sadly.

Europe's launch isn't going to get as much as Japan is getting.

North America's E-Shop launch day line-up:

Pokedex 3D (Free)
Excitebike (Free until July 7)

Virtual Console (Game Boy)

Super Mario Land ($3.99)
Alleyway ($2.99)
Radar Mission ($2.99)

Also, the 3DS E-Shop will be updated every Thursday in all regions.

I'm definitely going to get that free Pokedex 3D and Super Mario Land. Maybe get Excitebike, considering it's free at this time. Not sure about Alleyway or Radar Mission, though.

"eShop Games Start from $1.99 and Other Interesting Information

Posted Thu, 02 Jun 2011 by James Newton

Ready to learn more?

So now we know the North American 3DS eShop launch games, it's time to find out a little more about the shop itself. Wired.com got a guided tour of the store from Nintendo's David Wharton, director of eShop operations, a Nintendo group set up in April to handle digital sales.

Wharton states the lowest price any 3DS software will sell for is $1.99, just like the DSiWare 200 Point limit, with Virtual Console games available at a range of prices: Super Mario Land will retail for $3.99, whereas Alleyway and Radar Mission will sell for $2.99. These Game Boy games are simply ROM dumps, without any new additions or tweaks, other than the ability to choose between the classic grey and green or stark black and white colour schemes.

Wharton also revealed you'll be able to add smaller amounts to your eShop eWallet: $5, $10, $15 and $20 amounts can all be added, hopefully avoiding the leftover points syndrome that plagues Nintendo's other systems.

If you plan on adding funds via credit card, however, be aware that you'll need to enter your card details every single time: Nintendo does not save your details. It might be inconvenient, but in the light of the recent PlayStation Network difficulties, it may prove a wise decision.

Nintendo will announce eShop releases on Monday, but these games will not go on sale until Thursday, providing a very small window of promotion for small game developers normally hamstrung by Nintendo's secretive release schedule.

What do you make of what you know about the eShop so far?"

Source (http://3ds.nintendolife.com/news/2011/06/eshop_games_start_from_usd199_and_other_interesting_information)

Actually, it seems that you have to wait until Thursday for the games such as Super Mario Land. Bummer. But I think that's a good thing, so we can stay focused on the E3 2011.

I would rather get the cards from a store rather than having my Card on file. It was such the biggest pain to cancel/take your card off the XBL website or whatever (so they won't keep charging you for one month fee every time after your year is done). I would rather just buy my one year card from a store and type in the code (and what I would do/currently do after learning from that situation some years ago).

I meant I was the first person to get the update cause I kept hitting the update button every 10 minutes and VIP and Kinetic were my witnesses in the Shoutbox. :P

Yes, you were, but not the first one to post about it, right?

Too bad I don't have the DSi, so I can't really see the Pikmin in action in the process of transferring...or will I?
Well, you can if you watch a video of it :P

And I just did. :) Looks awesome, the Pikmin are using their strength to...transfer the object.

If you actually go out and buy another 3DS, you would probably see the animation if you transfer from 3DS to 3DS.

EDIT: Never mind, it needs an update

True, but I don't really see any other reasons to waste another $250 for another 3DS. One is enough.

Zelda Four Swords is coming to the E-Shop for free in the Fall. So apparently GBA games are coming as well. Only GB and GBC games were going to be at launch which is good news.

Yeah. Same here :)

I like how I can get the items in that crane minigame easily thanks to the whole save point thing on the bottom screen :P

Four Swords is strictly multiplayer though I don't understand how this would work.

Perhaps they'll edit the multiplayer from corded connection to wireless.

Apparentally you've never played the game... :P It comes bundled with the SNES Link to the Past. THey might add wifi and/or wireless (Like Yoshi said) since you had to need a cord to connect GBAs inorder to play it.

I actually have because I own it, also from sites I've read from it's DSiWare not 3DS Virtual Console.

It's coming to both...

It wouldn't be virtual console since with that they couldn't add any modifications to it, thus it would still think you would have to plug in a Gameboy Advance multiplayer adapter which is impossible obviously. So it's most likely only DSiWare since you know, DSiWare is available for download on the 3DS E-Shop. It wouldn't make sense to have a DSi version and a 3DS version.

Then you tell me why the 3DS has DSi ware in it's E-Shop. :P They share some of the same exact games like Dr. Mario which launched with the DSi. The game is supposed to be scheduled sometime in September. Note that I say "Supposed to be scheduled".
